Anyone know how to update the date for service in iDrive?

8000 miles in 14 years is not very many. Might want to change the oil before then, though.

Damn did you just get that thing and the previous owner had it set that far out? He must not have done any maintainence on it lol

Right? Fortunately, I always change my oil every 5k miles, despite what the idrive says. Old habits from my previous e60 M5. It's just annoying seeing this date. I'm all about accuracy, if even the details.

Had the car for about a year. 2014 with 59,000 miles. I changed the oil twice so far. Once, when I got it and 5000 after that. Now at 68,000.

I feel like this car was a weekender or something with the mileage compared to age. But I did a ton of work at initial purchase.

What is the date settings when you go into TIME/DATE in iDrive? Or did a previous owner code in a different date to avoid the 10k/12month warning?

Were these dates that far in the future when you first got the car…or did this occur after you attempted a service reset? If it did occur after you did a service reset…which method did you use…the instrument cluster or some software/app?

I’ve never seen the regular BMW CBS (condition based services) intervals not follow the normal 10k/12 month setting or 2yr interval for Brake fluid or mileage interval for the brakes.

But the statutory services that have the preceding squiggly lines icon (vehicle inspection and emissions inspection) can be set for any date by simply selecting the inspection, then pressing downward on the iDrive controller knob…then setting the date for the next service accordingly. But not everyone has the statutory inspections because they only are visible if they are required in the area the vehicle was originally sold…or moved to where it has to be added.

The time/date in iDrive is accurate. I never messed with those, as it seems to set itself with the satellite radio feed or whatever signal the car receives remotely. The only issue is the service dates.
As far as statuatory service, that's not a part of my region, so it doesn't show up on the iDrive.
