Mod completed
Just did this mod today on my 2012 528i xdrive with electric heated seats. My car has the 3 button Memory switch panel on the driver side... no memory switch panel on the passenger side. I bought the memory panel with 5 buttons from a 2011 BMW Alphina B7 for $50 (see attached jpg). Took 15mins for the full install and code with bimmercode:
1) remove old panel 2) swap blue backing from old panel to new panel 3) install new panel (5 buttons) 4) code with bimmercode - enable gentleman for both driver and passenger seat modules. Everything works 100% (note: of course, the massaging button on the new panel does not work since my seats don't have that function). Enjoy!! |

Should have read this first
I should have read this before starting. Realized the key on the connector is upside down between the white and the blue plate. So I cut the key off the connector without replacing the plate. Still works great but would have been cleaner to have swapped the plates.
A feature I never knew I needed. but WOW does it help. I have a variety of passengers, car-pool buddy, kids, wife, that all adjust the seat to something different and in a couple cases leave it in a spot that drives me nuts that it's so far off from the driver seat. (OCD Problems). This saves the day, and I can adjust the seat before the passenger gets in. |

I can appreciate this feature. Followed the lead of this thread. Only cost me $42 (eBay) for the correct buttons. Coded in 2min with Bimmercode. Thanks for the share OP.
