BMW NBT EVO Upgrade w / Installation

I bought the NBT EVO ID6 kit from naviandbmwparts on ebay after seeing OPs post. The seller coded the kit to my VIN and I'm happy to say that everything works great! It was a plug and play installation and the only tricky part was moving the cables around to get the box back in.

I've installed the android head unit before in my E9X M3, and I have to say, the speed and integration of OEM is worth the price (I paid about 2x for this OEM kit compared to AVIN USA). The bluetooth and Carplay connection is super fast compared to android.

Great to hear about another successful install. I have had a hard time finding this kit. Are you able to share the Ebay link? Did you have to request anything specific other than just supplying your VIN?

Here is the link to a touchscreen one. I got the one without the touchscreen, but I don't see it there anymore. You can ask the seller to see if he has more. When you buy, the seller will tell you a list of information he needs from your car and then he will code everything it. Everything was plug and play for me.

Thanks, I found the seller on Instagram and was chatting with him yesterday. Everything sounds good but he mentioned in order to use Sirius radio I will have to do it through the app on Carplay. Does that sound right? Did that occur with you on your setup?

He also said I will lose BMW Connected Drive but I never use that anyway.

No, this doesn't sound right. My car is a 2014, October of 2013 build. My sirius was a simple switchover to my new unit with a 3 minute phone call to Sirius and it's all through OEM unit (not carplay at all). I was ok with lack of connected drive since i never really used it. I would ask again on the satellite radio - maybe you have an special? head unit is the only thing I can think of. GL

Thanks for replying, I am going to check back with him. I have a 2016 built in 10/15 I don't know if there were any changes to the head unit that would have this result.

I just emailed back and forth with the seller today and he told me the same thing: not on the factory unit but through the app only. If true, that is a huge drawback. I have a 2015 M5, FWIW...

doesn't make it any sense. screen shot of it through the headunit he sold me. I reached out to him. (don't make fun of the station - i was taking my 4 year old to school )

Sorry for bringing up an old post but I performed this upgrade (NBT to EVO) on my X5 and it has been worth it. The only issue I have, and perhaps I should just contact the seller, is that I cannot reset the oil reminder. When I press and hold the button near the cluster controls, the menu that comes up does not have any reset settings. The options do not look factory. Any ideas?

It always seemed a little sleaker and was touchscreen as well so started to do my research. I did some research and went with an ebay retailer navi and bmw parts who could code the NBT EVO to my VIN as well as manufacturer a touchscreen from another vehicle but modified to fit the F10. Installed last night, fired right up and works perfectly. I was expecting some coding needed post install but all worked out - switched the Sirius over to the new unit in 10 min and good to go. Here are some pics of the install - took about 3 hours all in making sure I connected the right wires including the fiber optic cables and taking my time. Don't worry - I disconnected the negative terminal before I started taking things apart. Towards the end, I reconnected it before screwing everything to make sure things were working properly.

Am I being too picky by saying that I wish the G30 in the idrive had the M Sport pckg? Great setup overall tho n thx for the post!

Actually, I have the F90 M5 in my iDrive and I am still picky. Soon my own car will show up there, fully customized 👀 stay tuned!
