My educated guess is BR Performance

It's quite funny to read a few pages back on this and other tuning threads and re-read all the claims about DME software flashes being vapourware and that this is not happening. And then we get one thread on the F10 M5 forum from a US based company, and now everyone is suddenly believers...

Seems like it's finally cracked.

It's a know german tuner (not one of best, but known ) and he writes on FB:

don't forget this OBD flash is just the 2nd step in the process
you still have to get the ecu out and unlock it first with ENET!

That's actually not that bad as long as it only has to be done once.

So removal only once and updates, change, reflash can be done through OBD from that point on???

Can you guys do this over OBD as well now?
I can confirm they can flash through obd as well now. My car will be in soon for further development

Is the F30 335 ECU harder to crack then the F10 M5 ECU? Seems like it should be easy to crack them all after doing one, but then again, I'm not a tuner. AMS which is down the street from me can do a flash for the F10 M5 but they don't seem to have anything for us F30 N55 guys yet.

I'd love to have a ecu flash for my F30 335 and ditch the piggy back tune.

F30 N55 is ok for long time.
We did many and you can even see powergraph on BR-P website.

I think AMS is not offering it because AMS choose to work on specific plateforms and offer full package. But it's technically possible for them !

A relative also bought a F30 1600cc used out of warranty. We will send the ECU to BR Performance at Monday. From Greece to Belgium. They will remap it from 136 HP to performe 220 HP!

BR send us photo how we will remove the ECU outside of his house at Monday morning. I will show you pictures from all the things that we will do, so you must know what to do!

We removed the ECU in my relative's car. It is a F30 316i saloon automatic 8 speed steptronic 1600cc 136 HP. Wish him luck! We send it to BR-Performance to get 220 HP
At first they told me that is important to not having the engine running when we remove the ECU or after removing it.
I closed the engine and all the electricity and then closed all the doors locking with my hands. Last the door of the driver closed with the key and not telecontrol. afterwards at the afternoon I opened the car with the key and opened the hood.






I removed the plastic cover (very easy only pulling up), first of course removing the tap of oil.



Here we see the ECU

I removed the The first two connectors by pushing their clips inside




Here are the clips:


The clips of the second connector, again push inside and remove at the same time the connector

The first connector to the left as we see it has the clip to the right and you push it up and it goes 1cm up, and then it is easy to get it out

The last three to the right as we see it, are easy you push the button and then pull the plastic to the left







All the connectors removed:


At last I remove the four big screws of the ECU with screwdriver T20





then we got the ecu in our hand
ready for the curier

Since they aren't doing OBD flashes, the ECU has to be removed and flashed separately from the car.
