Active Sound

Used the Bimmercode app and managed to switch off the active sound. Took 30 seconds.

No more synthesised rubbish.

It's a lot quieter and you can hear the engine and exhaust when you nail it.

Much better.

I'm not sure, I turned mine off and I think I actually prefer the active sound. Tried the comp pack ASD and that sounds very artificial.

I have the Comp Pack so maybe that's why it's a lot better off.

Maybe the artificial sound is different/louder on a comp pack

But if you want to put it back on you have to use a backup with Bimmercode as its not just off/on

You restore the last back up

I couldn't stand active sound, switched mine off after three weeks of owning the car. Cars like m5 shouldn't even have this option. The engine speaks for itself.

Munich probably put it on the F10 to take away the fall out of the outgoing E60's superb V10 sound.

I'd sooner have some noise even if it's artificial, but since my catless DP and rear silencer changes I hear loads
