I've been running Bootmod3 for a few months now and have a custom tune by HCP. The tune is top notch, but the burble on down shifts is more of a cracking / popping noise than a true burble. I haven't found many videos on YouTube of other "types" of burbles available for the M5/6 but I found with the F8x chassis it seems as though the M4 burbles can be modified in a way that the overrun of the boost can be controlled to be throttled (if that makes sense) to provide a more pleasant toneā€”an actual burble and not a popping noise.

This is the type of burble I'm looking for:

Any thoughts?

I’m not sure how true it is, but I was told it has to do with an M5 exhaust being to big.

Two DME's are harder to recreate the burble of the S55. I have the HCP tune as well, but he made me two of them: one mild Burble and one aggressive. The agg was like an Ak47 (fun for messing around every now and then, but too much for normal driving). The mild is perfect imo. I will get updated videos soon

There are two primary functions that contribute to the "burble"
(pops / crackles / bangs) when off throttle or between shifts.

The first is the calibrated functions for Throttle Overrun, which
is what you seem to be looking for, as they are more controlled
and consistent. (just like in the video you posted)

The second is based changes in exhaust gas velocity through
the exhaust system, which is less controlled and can sound
more like a "backfire" (or random pops). This is more typical
of cars with aftermarket exhausts, and specifically with
aftermarket downpipes.

As a tuner, we have complete control over the first function
of Throttle Overrun, and less control over the second. The
video below is our HEX Tuning Stage ONE ECU Software
with the factory ///M Performance exhaust.

If you were to add downpipes to this same exact calibration,
the sound would change dramatically simply based on the
changes in exhaust gas velocity.

Of course it is also possible that some tuners are much more
aggressive in their calibrations for Throttle Overrun.

IE: When they are specifically trying to tune for "shotgun bangs".

Overly aggressive overrun can have a negative side effect on
cars with factory exhaust systems and catalytic converters, so
just be careful in what you request from your tuner.

I have the mild one too. I have no cats with the stock exhaust.

This is what mine sounds like:
