Catless downpipe questions

Ive been looking into stage 2 bootmod3 and from what i understand stage2 is to be run with no cats. According to pro tuning freaks i am able to run cats on the decat tune as long as i don't do heavy tracking.

I am however contemplating getting a set of catless downpipes as they can be purchased very cheap in the UK but have been reading about the fuel smell and wastegate rattle. Are these problems as bad as people make out as i will stay clear of them if this is the case.

Thanks
