How is the cat with the bad foot? I don't see a brace anymore. Does that mean he/she is better?

My old girl has some difficulty jumping down from high places. After a high jump down she limps a little. Maybe a little arthritis. Might get her one of those 'pet ladders' to help her get down so she doesn't have to make the jump. Think I remember you having one for your cats.

Yup- Max's torn tendon is all better- thanks for asking! Probably a 90-95% recovery. It'll always be weaker than it should be, but he doesn't jump anymore, so it's not really an issue.

We got a couple cloth-covered contoured foam ramps from Amazon (expensive for what they are)- one's for the Master bed and one's for the couch in the loft.

Worth the price, as he now bops up and down as required for purring/sleeping.

He's also figured out how to paw me to get my attention when he wants to get in my lap for "Dad Snuggle Time" when I'm sitting in my chair, so no jumping there.

He's starting to get up there in age (although the vet said she wouldn't have pegged him for a Senior if we hadn't told her his age). We we noticed he was starting to have a little trouble going upstairs (our bedroom) or into the basement (Litter Robots). The solution was two Dasaquin yummies every evening (from Amazon) and a Silencia shot every month from the vet. Since he goes in every month for a B-12 shot, he gets both at the same time and is TOTALLY chill about it. It took a little while for the Silencia to work, but now he's moving up and down the stairs like a cat half his age.

Unlike Giuseppe he's very friendly and will rub up against you so you will pet him/give him food.

Anyways he has started coming by pretty much every day now, he even hangs out in the patio WITH Giuseppe being there also and Giuseppe doesn't do shit. I don't know where this new cat Cracker Barrel came from, but I don't think he's ferral like Giuseppe, but he also doesn't have a collar or anything.

Maybe the asshole just goes house to house getting free food. I did see a mouse trigger one of my patio cameras the other day and today I found a dead mouse on the lawn so hopefully someone is doing their job.

Does cracker have a microchip??

Good point. Most cats do these days. Might be able to find his owner. Then again, maybe he's just making his rounds, like Alfie.

No idea, not sure how to check. Not friendly enough that I would attempt to pick him up. He actually tried biting and scratching me one time when I accidentally tried petting him while he was laying down on his back.

He definitely seems to be doing rounds because he comes pretty much every morning for breakfast then is gone most of the day then comes back for dinner hangs out a while and then he's off again.

Sounds like he probably belongs to a neighbor and like you said, he’s making his rounds and you are now a part of that.

If you wanted to check for a microchip, I think you’d have to have that done at a vet’s office or the local animal shelter.

You could call a local cat rescue - they might have a chip reader and might arrange to stop by with it, or loan it out.

My local Animal Control just payed me a visit to pick up a dead possum. Wonder if they’d come by with a chip reader to check on a cat that may be lost or missing that someone has found?

Still think he’s just making his rounds and he’s added a new person to his route, or maybe he's new to the neighborhood and him and his family just moved in.

Maybe but don’t cat people put collars on their cats? I have see a lot of cats around here, except these two they usually don’t keep coming by, but I have never seen one with a collar.

I can definitely tell Giuseppe is wild, he has never been friendly use to always fight with other cats, usually goes off into the woods and we’ve caught him sleeping on our porch or under window sills when it’s raining and what not. Cracker Barrel is the complete opposite, but I still don’t fully trust him, then again I’m not a cat person and always had nightmares of being attacked by a cat when I was kid.

I would think yes about the collar (with name, address, phone number) if you let your cat out, but not necessary if it's an inside cat only.

That's easy, wear plastic gloves! Like the ones used for washing dishes, the yellow ones

The belly is a sensitive area and each cat is different, some like belly rubs and others don't, depends on the personality of that specific cat

And then you get hit (or bit); at least that's what my cat does. She doesn't like belly rubs.

I think I’ll just pass on that belly rubbing.

I got 2 dogs who are happy to take any belly rubs you got left over.

That's fair enough, it was just my two cents on your situation. But hope the cats are healthy and safe, that's the main thing
