When Liam Lawson said during the post race interview, "I don't know what happened, Carlos was behind me, yet somehow he finished 10th..." I thought, yes Liam, we are in the exact same situation except you were in a F1 car and I was at home watching the TV feed.

we have a much better grasp of what's happening in the race, these drivers have no idea who is beside them half the time, the cockpit is super claustrophobic and you have no idea who is where on the grid on what tyres ...

his race engineer is also a bit of a tool, not that Liam is appearing to be that far above average though, Hadjar seems to have him beat more often than not

Q3 final lap telemetry: Verstappen - Russell.

It was close, until Norris required Verstappen to abandon his final Q3 lap. Not sure whether Verstappen could have snatched pole position – we'll never know. Sooner or later Verstappen will get the bill settled with Norris. Pole position in Singapore is a big option to bag 25 WDC points.

Not really an exciting race but super fun being there. Think Max def showed how a slower car is faster with him as the McLaren was still the faster car in race pace. Had Max not had Nor there in quali I think he’d have had like and the win. Need more McLaren DNFs to come.

Max has been penalized a lot over the years for dirty moves against Norris, but this seems to be a nothingburger that the media and social media influencers want to grab a hold of because they need your clicks.

The balance issues of the RB21 are now much worse than in 2024, especially in the first half of this 2025 season .
It's not just Yuki .Would like to see Norris or Piastri driving in the RB21...

But the McLaren race strategy and the ridiculous calls makes the current situation (tension and pressure) for the McLaren drivers even worse.

Agreed, I don’t hate Checo but expected more out of him. In hindsight he was dealt a crappy hand with a $hitty car.

Like many here I don’t hate Lando!!! I simply like Oscar better

Now, papaya rules get on my last nerve. With the WCC in hand I expect the gloves will come off within reason. I hope MCL lets them race unless they go piling up a bunch of cars.

Checo was pushing the car beyond its and his limits to try to get results. Yuki isn't crashing because he doesn't know how to push the car beyond it's limits and honestly the media has left Yuki alone, instead of constantly calling for him to be fired. Checo pulled a ton of great points in the early part of '24 before the car went south. They appear to have gotten better at setting up the car now that Horner is gone and Max is showing it, but Yuki is still nowhere to be seen - Checo was at least scoring points (when he wasn't crashing )

Honestly, I think all of this drama is because of Piastri's contract and Mark Webber being a thorn in everyone's side. Betting that once Norris got wind of the language Piastri has, he fought for the same thing. Put Piastri in next to Max and I think you'd be seeing a lot of the same issues, but Max isn't going to be as nice about it as Norris.

I was really glad to see Norris deny Piastri the first pit stop and then see Piastri get stuck with the shitty pit stop, pro move from him. Would have resulted in a similar issue to Italy and would have put the team in a tough spot.

Oh I agree, my comment was an indictment of the crappy choices made by the TV director. A lot of meaningful racing was simply not shown.
