COVID! Had it?
The thread that @floridaorange posted about memory issues post-COVID has prompted me to ask how many of us went through that ordeal?
I personally managed to avoid COVID -- so far (I know it is still out there.)

I "officially" had it once in Dec of 2022 confirmed by test. I remember my girlfriend went on a cruise with her mother and came back with it and gave it to me. It was meh, typical cold, not that bad. May have had it again but never tested after and any colds after that were pretty minor since I don't really remember them.
However, I'm pretty sure I unofficially got in Dec of 2019. This is before it was even a thing, but I've read it may have already been going around. We got sick with a "cold" but that ended up being the sickest I have ever been in my life. Pretty sure I was sick in bed with a fever for a full week and then once the fever subsided, I still felt super bad and dizzy for probably another week. I'm pretty sure it was OG covid, uncut, straight from Wuhan. |

Had it four times (confirmed), maybe more.
First was the worst, after that it’s been more like a mild-moderate cold. |

Had it in 22. It was not bad. Dr gave me Paxlovid. The flu I got in Feb of 19 kicked my tail for 3 weeks

So far, only cmyx6go and I report never having had it, but I suppose we could have been asymptomatic. I keep my COVID immunization card handy and just counted: NINE immunizations from 2021-2024!

AFAIK twice. Fatigue and easily out of breath symptoms.
I had two vaccinations. The missus as well, but literally an hour after the second one we rushed to the hospital because she felt very sick and she's been that for weeks and still she feels a bit less 'ok'. Doctor stated it was 99.9% due to the vaccin. She still feels sorry for having taken the vaccins. TBH me too.... Cheers Robin |

As far as I know I have never had it. About 2 years ago I had all of the symptoms including a very high fever, constant headache, etc. and the examining physician was 100% sure it was covid. However it ended up being Lyme and not covid. To this day I have bouts of fatigue etc. and I don't know what it is from because I don't go to the doctor it always resolves itself gradually.
It is likely that I have had covid at some time in the post I just never had it officially verified. |

I got one of the two J&J shots. Was supposed to go for the second and never did. This is not meant to go to the dark side so I guess I just have a good immune system.

As I recall public health saying that the second or third or whatever variant infected at least 80% of the population. I don't know if I ever had it because I never had symptoms that required a trip to the hospital/doctor. I didn't test myself because if I'd have had serious symptoms I would've been tested at the hospital. I got vaccinated twice but only because my mother was in hospice and I wasn't allowed in without being vaccinated. I'm not trying to get into a political conversation but I have serious issues with the way Covid and vaccination was handled by government and public health.

<--- Never had COVID.
My DW had it twice, and even my medical profession friends said that there is no way that I could avoid catching it from her being infected and both of us cooped up together in our modestly-sized 2BR house. I'm living proof that it can be done. My doctor pesters me to get the flu shot every fall, and I refuse it since I've never had the flu in my life.....

I think I had it once because it was similar to the flu but the symptoms were a little off/new. It was not a big deal for me and was done over 2-3 days. Never mrna'd.

Once. Stuck-in-bed nasty for one day, not quite as bad the next, then blah for a couple of days. But the fatigue lasted two weeks. Then it was just gone.

I have a friend in Germany who traveled extensively once the lockdown was lifted. She's had the shots and wore a mask when needed, but still was at work when others were at home and still traveled the world. She says, "COVID has managed to avoid me," but I wonder if she's just one of those lucky few who are asymptomatic.

I've had it at least three times, likely a fourth but that was very early before testing was widely available. The first time I had a cough for a couple weeks but no other symptoms. The other three times were essentially asymptomatic aside from the last time where I felt fine but my sense of taste became muted but not totally lost. That lasted a couple days.

Statistically - highly likely. Multiple times.
But I can't remember. Does that count? ![]()

As far as I can recall I had it twice.
The first one knocked me for six but the second time was just a bit of headache and sniffle |
