How loud is too loud?

Catless Downpipes + Muffler delete....

Already have a muffler bypass and considering going catless.

Will it be too much? I like the muffler delete but I could use a little bit deeper sound. At the same time I don't want to sound like a 17 year old with a mustang..

Only you can be the judge of that I'm afraid. You've already got the downpipes so if I were you I'd fit them and see what you think. I'm sure you'll love it.

Straight pipe sounds good when your driving but its Lllooouuuddd!! I did the rpi gtm catless system and it sounded awesome. But the drone was too much and the neighborhood got a little pissed at my cold start🤣🤣 if you can deal with that go for it!!! It was pretty bad ass

I have meisterschaft GTC + ams catless downpipes and it's perfection. Press of a button to close valves and it sounds a little louder than stock.

The sound doesn't go deeper when you go catless after muffler delete in my opinion. More like annoying, not deep. Might want to consider an aftermarket muffler after catless?

I have that setup and love it. It doesnt get too loud in the cabin after going catless, it still maintains that mellow tone when cruising around. But WOT, it just sounds insane

Talking If you go catless with muffler delete it would be loud.

I have Evolution Racing Catless Downpipes and Meisterschaft Full Exhaust set up. I also have RK Autowerks Cold Air intakes. My M5 is not tuned. The car is only really loud on Cold Start. If I get on it then it becomes louder as I accelerate . You can hear my car if I am driving by and hear the turbo's really good. Lucky for you I actually live in Texas, a few hours away from your area. About 2 1/2 to be exact. If you are on Facebook and a member of Texas M Club send me a PM on this forum. Maybe we can link up and I can let you hear how it sounds.

I'll PM you. I'm planning on doing some cruises and meets in Austin this year and would be nice to meet up. That being said - I'm going catless on saturday

So I installed the downpipes and along with muffler delete it is loud, the cold start was WILD at first but I coded it out and its quieter than stock now.

I like the loudness of the exhaust, but I really don't like the tone, at WOT it has a raspiness to it that reminds me of a lawnmower...

I've seen the guy who installed the magnaflow resonated x pipe and said it sounded great. Any other suggestions other than going with a full or axle back exhaust set up?

I still have stock resonators installed.

Im curious on this too.
I have RK downpipes, stock mids, and Turner exhaust.
The WOT is a bit obnoxious.

So we have basically the same set up.

WOT is a bit over bearing but I had a buddy do some revs and pulls with me outside and following and I actually really like the sound. It seems to me that the sound deadening inside the M5 cancels out certain frequencies that make the exhaust have a totally different tone inside the car than outside.

I was kind of shocked like " OH thats what my exhaust sounds like? I've been listening to something completely different"

Heres a video of mine.
