The app is free.
I dock the phone so its not prctical to use phone screen-based apps. Live could work. This link suggests simultaneous bluetooth connections are possible. However I would be unable to use MOG through BMW Apps while running Live.

I knew you would have the 411. But I still put it out there in case pkilla didn't inform you.

How do you like it? Is it worth giving up cd-quality music for?

I use it with a 4S. It bluetooths simultaneously with the BMW and the Live system.

It works. Saved me a few times without radar warning. I make sure to help out fellow speeders by, "police spotting" on the app. It works.

I have a phone holder on the a/c vent and I use an iPod for tunes.

Can't help with that one. I don't use any of the BMW apps.

FYI if you selected the iphone or android version at check out you will notice you get a $60 discount on the smartcord live for your cig lighter. I called today to see if they would also extend this $60 saving on to a direct install smartcord live and they did.

So you can get both at the discount or just swap it out for the other. savings is $120 not to bad.... you could look at it as unnecessary $$$ radar detector at a loss of $7xx.00

the ticket savings is well worth it =)

Yeah this is a bargain compared with the >$3k radar/laser jamming/PCAS setup in my M5.

Ya, I went with LI + 9500ix + Escort Live a couple of months ago. I think it's a better and much more cost effective solution than the Bel STiR. I've got a nice, clean professional install. It's not totally stealth as the detector is mounted high up on the windshield next to the rear-view mirror, but it saves about $2k compared to the cost of the Bel plus its install. And $2k is a long way towards a good audio upgrade.

Custom installed Laser Interceptors coupled with the appropriate Radar Detectors are worth it if you are not caught in States that disallow them. It is not worth if you get the experience of somebody I know who got pulled over in his M3 with those custom installed devices which the cops confiscated and mind you, the cops don't care if they inflict damage to part of your car's exterior and some of the interior where the devices were carefully installed to confiscate them. So in the long run he not only paid the fine, the lost of the devices ($2000+) and the damage done to his car's external finish and internal furnishings (which was over $5000 to fix). Personally, I would rather have a windshield detector that just costs $600. This way, in case I do get cited for those devices, it would just be a fine and the confiscation of the device without harm to any part of my M5.

Personally I would not live in a state like that. There are many times a headhunter has called me up, and I've responded that as a car enthusiast I would be unwilling to live in that state.

These are the states BTW
  1. California
    Colorado
    Illinois
    Minnesota
    Nebraska
    Oklahoma
    South Carolina
    Tennessee
    Texas
    Utah
    Virginia
    Washington D.C.

Unfortunately for me, I frequent SC, VA and DC and of course Quebec Canada. For this long 4th July Weekend, my friends and I are thinking of driving to Montreal for the Jazz festival. Radar detectors are deemed illegal in Canuck country (Missisauga to Quebec route is notorious) subject to heavy fines and device confiscation.

If you switch them off its not an issue. I've driven my Dad's car (same system as mine) into SC and I just switch it off when I cross the border.

BTW if I was in TX I'd still get them. Better to get busted for driving with jammers than for driving 150mph.

Day one of the new law my wife got pulled over in the Cayenne. Cop was very rude wrote her a ticket. Lawyer got it dismissed less than a week later.

To this day she wont drive down that road because the same cop sits there with his laser gun all the time. (right when you get over a bridge.....)
