Top Speed limiter removal without Bootmod3?

I would like to remove top speed limiter without doing any of the other things that bootmod3 does. Is this possible?

Yes it's possible. I assume you actually have a bootmod3 licence? If so then it automatically reads the stock tune. Click on the stock tune then go to configure in the top right corner. In there you can turn off v max, click save changes then flash the stock file.

Thanks for that! Aside from obvious warranty implications, any other regular issues with this method? Seems risky - like you could brick your computer if something failed ... ?

I've had flash failed a couple of times. I'm planning on going on a remote session with protuningfreaks on my next flash to see what the issue is. Gets a bit scary when it fails flash numerous times. Works in the end though.

You're not wrong!

It will actually do 163 before it shuts down and I know it can do 185 without even flinching. I don't want to do it all the time, but whenever I have the chance, I want to be the one to give up on accelerating before the car's governor does.

My bet is my asshole tightens up right around 175 and then inverts at 185 when I shut it down. 163 is smoother than you would expect on an empty stretch of elevated highway ...

Fair. Thanks for taking time to answer.
