I have a 13 M5 with the original battery for the last 5 years. Car driven everyday.
recently I noticed sometimes if you sit in the car with engine off but everything on within 15-20 min the car will show a battery discharge message and then will take a long time to start up after cranking and failing (2-3 times) along with the following issues No sound Drivetrain malfunction No steering No lights The heat/ac only blow low speed Another restart all errors go away and the steering back. Sometimes sound takes a few hours to come back. I think my battery needs replacement. Did anyone have similar issues when the battery dying |

5 years sounds about correct for a battery replacement. I just replaced mine and the car is four years old. Look into your car's secret menu so you can see voltage with the car off and voltage with the car on. Those two things will tell you everything you need to know about your battery's life.
