Ams catted downpipes ?

Just want to check that you will definitely not get engine warning light with the catted downpipes? I take it performance increase wise the difference between catted and non catted is negligible? Thanks

I have over 1k miles on my AMS catted downpipes with no codes or issues (knock on wood). I am sure the catless downpipes make more power, I just don't know how much more.

Hmmm interesting! Seems strange I suppose. Maybe just go for the non catted and deal with the engine management light?

Have Agency Power (Same Exact Cat as AMS, but better O2 Location), no engine light or issues. I have 2013.

Agency Power and AMS both use identical catalytic converter, so there is no difference in that aspect. Agency Power has stock location for the O2, where AMS you have to unclip and stretch the O2 sensor to barely make it fit, or buy extended O2 wires.

Agency Power offers same performance, easier install with better O2 location, and has a better price point. Was a no brainer for me. Talk to James at Vivid Racing, he will give you a deal.

Only other difference is AMS uses stock type bracket for flex, where Agency Power uses a flex pipe in theirs. Both should do the same job.

As far as quality, welds, construction, etc. Agency Power is made in USA and their production was on par with AMS.

Also, AMS now provides new stock OEM donut gaskets with theirs, Agency Power doesnt, but you're talking $30 or so.

The supersprint are even higher flow with a better catalytic converter with more platinum from my understanding, but you pay almost double the price. Not sure if you'll get double the gains.

Just my 2 cents.

I bought a set of the Agency Power catted and had problems with the install. The flex pipe was not helpful on the install as it needed constant tension. The flange would not line up after two 45 minute attempts at it. I had to send them back and got the AMS ones instead. I bought Bosch extended O2 sensors based on recommendations from other members here. The AMS went in VERY easy and no rattling because the tech knew how to seat them correctly.

Sorry to hear that.
I had Vivid Racing do the install, apparently no problems.

I don't know how everyone w downpipes drives but, those who did receive a dt mal was either stomping on the gas to get up to or above 120 or doing the slow creep mode to get there. Perhaps those who haven't gotten the light yet is the exception so that's good for them.

I haven't gotten the the dt mal light (knock on wood) during a high speed run and I have run many times up to 140mph (on a private road or drag strip of course).

AMS catted? Did you also change the O2 sensors to the extended Bosch ones?

Usually with a full tank of gas it says I have a range of 320+ miles. Very strange.

And the CEL happened when I turned the car on in the morning. Not even during rough driving. I've probably maxed this car out at 120MPH and never had an issue once.
Are you sure it wasn't gas cap related? Did you read the codes?

See folks thought I was krazea. This is the latest and greatest club to join and there is no admission fee. What do you get in return. Smiles from the sound. Mid range punch, crazy azz up/downshifts and pissed off neighbors.
