Thats because your useless government feels it deserves several times more money from a B&O purchase than the dealer, manufacturer and parts supplier combined.
My useless govt also saw it fit to tax the M5 it retails on the road at close $260,000AUD sticker!

Dealer is replacing my center channel and front door speakers. Awaiting speakers from Germany. Two weeks...I hope this solves the problem.

Rattle

I have an F13 M6 and my center B&O rattles so much it's driving me crazy! The rattling is really bad when taking on the phone through Bluetooth.

Talk to your service manager. They are replacing my 2 front door speakers and the center. The center is horrible. Certain bass frequencies would make it unbearable to listen to the song. I would have to lower it. You're right too, it definitely is bad on a call. I should be getting a call next week, they said two weeks because the speakers are coming from Germany.

The center speaker is a known issue that BMW nor B&O does not have a fix for. It even occurs on the 550i's and 650i's. I've never heard of rattling coming from the door speakers though. I have the rattling/buzzing coming from both of my B-Pillars though, right where the seat belts go into the them. This was a buzzing that was no present when I first bought the car. I've already told my SA about it, and she said that they'll look at it the next time I bring it in for service, which will be soon as I am due for an oil change.

One thing I did find out, albeit by accident, is that while the Bang & Olufsen is turned on and the center speaker is popped up, you can actually physically push the center speaker back down with your hand. I found this out while I was cleaning my windshield and had the B&O center speaker in the up position. At first I was like OH CRAP! But then I realized that the stereo system didn't turn off and that the car did not explode. I can't say whether or not this is good for the little motor that makes it move up and down, but what I did do was try to replicate the rattling/buzzing that comes from the center speaker while playing music at certain frequencies or at very loud volumes, with the center speaker in the down position. SO FAR as I could tell the buzzing did not come back. So this could be a possible Do It Yourself solution, but don't blame me if the little motor on your center speaker breaks, lol! Only thing I can suggest is to try it yourself.
Dave - did you fix the B Pillar vibration noise? I am now getting it in the right b pillar under certain exhaust and B&O frequencies.

My system had a rattle that sounds like static. Upon further inspection I realized it was the speaker cover from the passenger side door. The driver door is fine, if you press against it, it doesn't make a noise. If I press against the passenger door speaker cover, it makes a creaking noise. It might just be a loose fitting. Going to address the issue at next service.

Late response. Yes I fixed the B-Pillar issues. There were some washers that came loose. They haven't come back. Now as for the clicking with the front wheels, that's a different story. :/

How many people here have B&O rattle with the stock exhuast?
An aftermarket exhaust may set up different resonance frequencies, thus the rattles.
Kinda sad for such an expensive system.
I plan to fix this by pushing 750 JL watts to a W7.

I have no B&O rattle either when I had stock exhaust nor with my current Eisenmann exhaust.

Not a speaker rattle. That was a B pillar rattle. Completely different. Something to do with the seatbelt.

Reading comprehension again!!!! WTF is it with people on this forum. English isn't hard.

First off, easy; I'm a friend and I value you opinion and comments -- to be clear you stated:

so when the B&O hits certain frequencies you get rattle... whether it's from the speaker itself rattling or a speaker causing another panel to rattle, to me these not completely different, they are symptoms of the same cause. I consider it a concern as weigh the need of this option in my order, and I knew you'd clarify...

Now, if you are saying you get rattle in your B pillar regardless of whether the stereo is on or not, thats shitty to hear too.

It is an important distinction because the rattle I am talking about would happen with the HK audio as well. The B-Pillar rattle occurs whether the stereo is on or off. However I think it is a very simple fix - similar to what Dave had. The B Pillar rattle is triggered by certain resonance frequencies. I can create those frequencies with both the engine and with music - it's not a B&O issue - it would occur with HK audio, or with no audio.

However this thread is about whether the B&O speakers rattle - and I can tell you emphatically that my speakers do not rattle and never have rattled. So don't view my B pillar issue as a reason not to get B&O. If I were ordering a 2014 car - I would get B&O without hesitation. It's a great option.

This said the issue with the F10 5 series is that rattles in general are all too common. The B Pillar rattle is one that I have. Another one I used to have was in the back of the car coming from the headliner. I went back there and started pounding the headliner with the back of my palm until I found the rattle. Then after pressing a bit in the area of the rattle, I was able to eliminate the rattle. It implies the headliner wasn't well attached.

Anyway now that I fixed that one, I just have to fix the B Pillar washer and then I'm rattle free once more.

That said I hate rattles. If Mercedes made a car as good as the M5, I would buy it. However as is, I'd rather put up with the odd rattle then deal with the Mercedes mBrace system which as best I can tell was designed by a Monkey and intended for use in Soviet era Ladas.

Due to Stealth's EQ settings the rattle has decreased but is still present under certain low end frequencies. I am still awaiting my 3 news speakers from Germany.

I think the B&O is a great sound system but this inconvenience has left a bad taste in my mouth. My wife's HK in her 13 ML 350 sounds almost just as good and I am yet to hear any distortion at all. In all of the vehicles I have owned I have never experienced a rattle like this. It's disconcerting considering this is the most money I have ever spent on a sound option. From what I have gathered not everyone has had this issue ( like Stealth) but some have had it too.

Yeah that's right. But the point is it is a defect not a design problem so you're right to replace the speakers. The only thing I'm not sure is whether issues such as yours arise from the parts, or how well the technician mounts the speaker.

Good point, we shall see. The doors have vibration occasionally and IMO I feel it's either the grill or the plastic it anchors to. The center seems like an internal issue or its the actual silver thin material it consists of.

Update---- Had the 2 door speakers (not tweeters) and center channel replaced. 50% improvement but still rattles under certain frequencies. Probably will not get another B&O in any car again.

The base speakers also make a harsh vibration sound under certain resonance frequencies.

I'll keep that in mind Stealth, but it's disconcerting that any consumer should have endure any sound distortion with a $3700 option in a $100K+ car. Like I said earlier, my wife's HK system in her ML is pretty good too with no vibrations and the option was $750 I think.

Unfortunately this is a BMW construction issue. All BMWs have these issues. I have yet to find a BMW which feels as solidly built as a Porsche. Also in my experience Mercedes sedans are not much better.

For the speakers they should use cloth not metal grilles.
