Many error codes after spark plug change

My plan was to have my vehicle dyno tuned 5 days ago. Unfortunately, I found out too late that it required two steps cooler spark plugs with a tighter gap. This was my fault as it was pretty clear on their website that this was needed prior to the tune. So, I purchased the spark plugs and set the gaps (NGK 97506 -- 0.022").

Last night I began changing the plugs later than intended (~11 pm) and I did not complete the job until this morning (~4 am). In the process of changing the plugs, I detailed the engine bay, changed the air filters and removed the charcoal air filters.

I began the spark plug change by disconnecting the negative battery terminal. Next, I removed the engine cover, both air intakes, both DMEs, the DME bridge-mount w/ ground wires, power steering reservoir and coolant reservoir. NOTE: I disconnected the battery and accidentally closed the trunk. I luckily recalled posts about this situation. I opened the locked trunk by using the ski pass-though and pulled the glow-in-the-dark emergency release.

Next, using several sizes of brushes, I cleaned/dusted everything. Then, I used the brushes with a small amount water and a drop of Dawn dish soap and cleaned any area that was still a bit dirty. Next, I cleaned and dried the brushes. Then, I went over all areas a third time so all was now clean and dry.

Next, I began removing each coil and plug set on the passenger side from the firewall forward (firing order 4, 3, 2, 1). I did not need to remove any connections to the DME since all the coils and plugs were accessible.

Then, I began removing each coil and plug set on the driver side from the firewall forward (firing order 8, 7, 6, 5). I removed the connections to the DME on this side since all the coils and plugs were NOT accessible.

All connections were re-checked and all items that had been removed to gain access to the coils and plugs were reinstalled. Then the battery was reconnected and I now have these errors:

  1. P16AC No DTC definition found
  2. P11BD No DTC definition found
  3. P0228 Throttle / Pedal Switch C Circuit High Input
  4. P212C Throttle / Pedal Switch G Circuit High Input
  5. P0241 Turbocharger Boost Sensor Circuit Low
  6. P01C1 No DTC definitin found
  7. P0023 Exhaust (B) Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit / Open (Bank 2)
  8. P0056 Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater Contril Cirucit Bank 2 Sensor 2
  9. P0242 Turbocharger Boost Sensor B Circuit High
  10. P01C1 No DTC definition found
  11. P0300 Random - Multiple Misfire Detected
  12. P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected
Several of the above are listed more than once; some are Permanent and some are Pending.

The battery is being charged now. When done, my plan was to disconnect the negative terminal and then remove and reconnect all driver side DME connections. Expert/Techs, are you able to identify if a connector(s) (maybe DME) is/are not secure from the errors provided above? THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR LOOKING INTO THIS.

Definitely remove and re connect the DME connectors, its so easy to think they are connected fine when actually they are not.

CRAZY!!!! Yes, a moth was trapped inside and smashed in one of the six driver side DME connections. I used a technicians brush, tweezers and alcohol to clean.

All errors are gone and it runs strong again. I'm off to the dyno tomorrow afternoon.

Glad you got sorted out. 9/10 times the error codes are erroneous when the DME connectors are not seated right. The three on the far right that have the hinged arm are usually the culprit. They are nested so you have to install them left to right (IIRC). Tug on each one gently after closing the locking arm to be sure it is seated properly.
