WTB F10 need advice

I'm looking to buy an F10 and I was wondering what the major differences are between the 2013-2016s. Did BMW make any improvements from the factory that I should be aware of as they progressed through the F10? Any design flaws in the earlier F10s? Excited to be back in the F10 zone looking forward to buying modded F10 not abused well maintained. MT preferred (but rare).

In UK you could start buying them in late 2011,its only in US they started importing them in 2013. Same engines used from 11-16 and getting a good one is the trickiest part. I'd myself would go on how often the plugs have been changed in a particular car, the more they have been changed then the likelihood is they've been driven hard and/or had tunes. Obviously oil changes with the correct grade of oil at least every year are important, missed oil changes are just not on with these.Naturally if you want a later one it'll cost more for a later so called lci ones from late '13 but there was no real change except some really minor changes, steering wheel and front grille, and optional bottom squared of headlights being the main features. Best to take a mechanic with you to be sure if interested in one, mine's a '13 and have had no real trouble with it since I've owned it over 3 years now.,at 37k with the original plugs and mines had an easy life. It's normal for quite a few of these to have a lot of owners as they are bought in haste by some then when found to eat into savings are sold on after a short time.

Hey man, first off congrats on coming back to the f10! Anyhow I know they changed injector styles middle of 2014 from EU5 TO EU6 injectors, that being said I'm not sure what the improvements were from 5-6 though. I read once that the 2015 model years had a higher clamping force and a more durable dual clutch, but I know you're looking for a MT. All in all I'd say every car has design fixes made to them from the start of there production until the end. I know I always read that your want to go for a 15-16 model year.(plus in the 15 model year bluetooth became standard) Good luck with shopping!

As far as I know there are no 6 speed manual RHD versions in the UK,the small amount made went abroad mainly to the US.If there are then its probably a handful on special order.

Too be honest I've only had my car for two months now, been a huge fan boy for years though, so I can't give my personal experience yet. But from what I've read the dual clutch holds up very well, people have had the car for 80000 miles and not had any slippage, but there are always those disaster cases... Usually what gets the clutch is when you tune the car to higher power outputs, in the range of 650-700whp, you can start to have it slip. But other than than it really is how you drive the car, if you beat on her the whole time you are liable to have premature wear.
When it comes to a true manual its much more on how you shift and I saw one guy say they were weaker clutches but I don't know really.
Also I did look into differences on the EU5 vs EU6 injectors and it has to do with spray patterns and if you have a model originally made with EU5 you need to stick with it because misfires happen

I guess your from US,there is a Berkshire county in UK also.
Manual g/box clutches last a good time with normal use, when used as an M5 should then I'd say up to 60-70k without too much clutch spin on take off.
If DCT twin clutches if adding a tune stage 2 or above then halve it, normally up to 100k,with st2 and above tune around 50k.A few forum members have swapped the DCT clutches out knowing they will slip with the extra torque of a tune. Not sure about a tuned 6MT though.

FYI, the engines components in prelci and lci f10 m5 are not identical.
-Prelci / Lci
Wastegate: mechanic / electronic
difference in tuning potential; and when you decat, mechanic wastegate on this motor can easily make notorious wastegate rattle
DME: Bosch MEVD17.2.8 / Bosch MEVD17.2.H
you get sports display in upgraded dme... lol
Injectors: EU5 / EU6
personally there’s not much difference apart from emission control but there’s saying that EU5 injectors are more likely to be clogged
