Here’s another one:
https://apple.news/A9TmhQa0VQBmSSAS5yedrxg It’s virtually impossible to mine enough minerals and ore to produce 2 billion electric cars. Add to that exploitation, theft etc. There is no landfill big enough to bury 2 billion used batteries without treading in dangerous waters. Interesting read nonetheless. I got to thinking. What would happen to classic ICE cars?! |

Well, he says about double the cost right now of regular gas, who knows. I just like that there are folks out there who are trying to work on alternative rather than just saying if you keep your ICE you're evil.

https://www.theguardian.com/environm...nuclear-option
"Land sparing lay at the core of the manifesto, with the aim of rewilding as much of the world’s surface as possible by concentrating human activities. Ultimately, they wrote, technology could “decouple” economic growth from planetary systems, and the “wise” use of nuclear power, genetic modification and intensive agriculture would lead “to a good, or even great Anthropocene”. Precision fermentation and nuclear power are emblematic of the kinds of technical fixes they call for. Precision fermentation could, they claim, allow for the entire world’s protein to be produced from an area the size of London" Are we trying to avoid or invite extinctions ![]() |

So the two choices are- 1. Charging stations everywhere there are gas stations and you can charge 100% in less than five minutes. 2. Charging stations everywhere a car can park. Without one of those two options, electric vehicles are nothing more than novelty toys for the upper middle class to add to their existing ice fleet at home. |
