It’s virtually impossible to mine enough minerals and ore to produce 2 billion electric cars. Add to that exploitation, theft etc. There is no landfill big enough to bury 2 billion used batteries without treading in dangerous waters.

Interesting read nonetheless.

I got to thinking. What would happen to classic ICE cars?!

to the original question -

yes i want an EV so bad, one that suits that i can afford of course, of which currently there are none

went for a hoon around just now in the M340i and i stopped the car and gassed the pedal - full to the floor and the car just won't move until it gets past 3000rpm.

i am so annoyed

That's throttle and automatic transmission lag. The turbo 3.0 makes plenty of torque well below 3000k. You need to drive a car with actual turbo lag where it doesn't build appreciable boost till 2800-3000...It ain't like your M340.

i had a manual subaru sti and its turbo starts to come on boost at 4000 rpm and starts to drop at 5000rpm

I just don’t understand why these hyper pro electric vehicle supporters just can’t admit that this system of everyone owning an electric vehicle will only work if there are chargers everywhere one can park. It’s that or there will have to be a charging station everywhere and in the same amounts there are gas stations and you’ll have to be able to charge your car in under five minutes. Otherwise I’m sticking by what I’ve always said, and that is forcing this on the public will only cause irreparable damage.

So the two choices are-
1. Charging stations everywhere there are gas stations and you can charge 100% in less than five minutes.
2. Charging stations everywhere a car can park.

Without one of those two options, electric vehicles are nothing more than novelty toys for the upper middle class to add to their existing ice fleet at home.
