So I MacGyver'd the crap outta my sink cartridge!
So this prb came back w a vengeance, the stem of the cartridge broke (cuz it was stupidly made outta plastic! duh!). Anyway, I already bought the silicone lube to fix the prb in the OP so I wasn't gonna go out and buy a new cartridge or else I would've done that in the first place!
That being said, it was a pita to figure out how to repair this mess and I almost gave up a few times. Finally, EUREKA! First, screw the stupid plastic stem to hold it in place, then bend a *metal* washer 90 degrees, finally, file down the stupid plastic stem so that both it and the washer can fit snugly into that square insert at bottom of the handle. It took forever and I did a workout using all that elbow grease but it felt good to accomplish this little achievement and at least I don't have to wake up early in the morning to go to the store to buy stuff.
