Dinan Stage 2

So I've been researching various tune options and most of what I see are stage two tunes with catless downpipes and the results are impressive (in my opinion).
Enter Dinan Stage 2...just reading their website indicates to me that Dinan managed to get very similar results with their Stage 2 tune combined with a very expensive Dinan air intake.
This is intriguing to me because it would appear as though Dinan's option has some magic advantage that overcomes the back pressure issue from the stock catted downpipes.
Can anyone explain this to me?

I have Dinan Stage two; it works, but now I am looking for input on other tunes, namely ESS.

Do you use the Dinan intake with the Stage two...or are your intakes stock?

No, I had an afe intake and it threw codes, so I used the stock intake with K/N filters worked fine.
