Having this same noise from my M6 gran coupe. At standstill and while parking the car. Anyone know what can it be?

It's too quick to be suspension or any linkage noise, there are faint reverberations when power steering is near or on full lock but nothing like that. The noise suggests the rack linkage is jumping. I suspect a rod that goes into the rack and of course check the power steering reservoir level first, the steering hydraulic fluid should be clean.

Sure! Could it be due to too much dust? Had to visit an event where there was literally so much dust around (no roads only loose dust) and i had to drive through it. Started post that only. Thanks for the heads up will check all this! Gotta love this forum! Thank you man!

Sounds like an SUV would have been better suited for that trip

Get a long screwdriver and use it like a stethoscope on various parts while someone else turns the wheel like that. it should be pretty obvious whether it's one of the control arms, the outer tie rod or in the rack.

If one doesn't have a long enough screwdriver, might be easiest to just get a cheap automotive/mechanic's stethoscope. Can get them off ebay or at Harbor Freight for under $10.
