New order, how long.

Ordered 23 M550I Labor Day. Been 3 months, what’s best guess to see delivery. West Coast. My guess 5-8 months, dealer originally said 4 months.
Thanks

By this point you should know your production status. If you have the production number you should be able to check on that yourself. At what status is your 5er right now?

I ordered a 540i at the end of January. Delivery was early June, just about what the dealer predicted.

What status is your order in? Do you have a production number to where you can enter your production number into BMW MyGarage?

If you don't have a production number, unfortunately, you don't have a car. You probably don't even have an allocation. Without a production number, you just have an order in the ordering system, and it will sit there until an allocation gets assigned to your order. Dealers aren't guaranteed allocations for everyone on their list. If you have 15 people on the list, they may only get 10 allocations for the year.

If you had an actual production number, you would have a VIN within 30 days of getting a production number, and about 30 days after that, at the latest, you would be in production.

The MyGarage tracking would look like this. I walked out of the dealer, with an allocation, and the car had already been scheduled for production. This is the type of progress you should see. From sitting down, ordering my car, to my driveway, in 97 days.
