P0087 Fuel Rail/System Presure too low

Hey everyone,

As above the car went into limp mode last night and after clearing out the codes is showing the above error message? When I try start it, it'll idle but very roughly. Has anyone had experience with this before? the car has over half a tank of Optimax in it,

How many miles on it and what year is the car.
* The immediate suspect that comes to mind is one of the two high pressure fuel pumps.

It’s a 2014 and about 74k miles. It started briefly with really gas smelling white smoke that came out of the far right exhaust pipe then cut out again.

If you smell gas then it's a faulty injector and fuel is getting into the oil.

If it's still running rough I wouldn't use it and get the car on a low loader to a BMW garage. You have the BMW 10 year injector replacement warranty to replace any faulty injector, then do an oil change and you should be fine.
By Optimax fuel I'm guessing you mean V-Power.

Yeah! Sorry I’m using old UK terms I think. I’ll call BMW tomorrow! I thought I’d read the LCI models weren’t covered but I’ll report back!

The injector warranty is valid in US but not over the pond here, as long as the car hasn't been tuned or has been before and tune removed, they can check it.
