Video: F10 M5 vs F90 M5 Impressions from owning both
With the arrival of our latest project car, an F90 M5 we've dubbed 'Lycan', it's time to say goodbye to our F10 M5.
Many of you will be familiar with this car, having owned it for 4 years, but most of it was before we started producing project car videos. It's been a great car, and in this video we reminisce about the time owning and modifying the car, and the many triumphs it achieved, not only in power and top speed, but also in practicality and family duties. We also consider if the F90 M5 is really worth the money over a good F10 M5, as we're sure many of you own one, and who doesn't want the latest new shiny thing. I have test driven an F90 M5 and the question I am asking does it need the front wheel drives also, there is a case for it in cold climates but where I live and for the moment i will stick to my stock '13 and keep an eye on how the money market is for a used F90 before long;I have some reservations about the wheels and grille. In any case I can say there was little difference comparing the two in normal driving but no doubt you would feel a difference cornering hard and accelerating out under controlled conditions.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I'm waiting for the G90 M5 in 2024 as my next "new" M5. The F90 is not worth it over an F10 M5. I just seriously hope that they use a completely different engine for the G90 M5 or I will not be buying another new M5 for a very very long time.
Also, I feel this video better demonstrates the driving experiences between the old and the new. I see no big difference besides the 0-60 driving driving experience. The one and only reason I would say the F90 is worth it over the F10 is if you live in an area of the world where it snows every year. Even then, I have personally proven that AWD is not required for snow driving in an F10. https://f10.m5post.com/forums/showth...winter+odyssey But for people who purely just want something because it is "new" and "shiny" I completely understand that. It is Barney Stinson's one rule after all.

I'm sure performance wise, F90 is better overall
However, in terms of rear design, I would choose the one on the right over the one on the left imho |

Strangely enough, for the new generation, the estate wagon has a better looking rear-end than the sedan/saloon
No M5 variant for that though (or even M550i)...........so M550d would be the closest in this case. |
