DCT loses oil
Just a quick note:
My car is 18 months old now and I noticed a small drop of oil in the driveway after parking. The car went to the dealer anyway that day (front LED turnsignal broke) and they discovered that the seal of the DCT oil sump was leaking. They had to refill about 0.4 liters of oil. Gearbox contains 8 liters and DCT was behaving normal, so nothing mich happened. But you might want to check on your car just to make sure.

Perhaps this is why, at least in the USA, you have to buy the DCT sump to obtain the gasket for the sump. BMW in its wisdom does not sell the gasket for the DCT sump separately. The sump and gasket cost $201.89 USD from my dealer. I am considering buying an aftermarket metal DCT sump, and it looks like buying the stock sump is the only way to get the gasket! I suppose if I do get the metal sump, I'll disassemble the stock sump first and hope the gasket will be reusable.

I asked my service advisor about maintenance on the DCT and he advised me there is no recommended service or fluid changes.
Apparently the fluid is suppose to last the life of the transmission. :

Now, 6 weeks later I went to BMW to have them look over my brake pads (2.200kms left before a longer trip). Brake pads are good, but the complete underside of the car is again full of DCT oil leaking. Not good....
