Ummm its risky. I would get a carfax on the car (WBSFV9C51DC773466) and ask for service records as a start.

be aware that these cars are expensive to fix... obviously. With 100k miles you may have some repairs and maintenance over the first 2 years that cost you 5-8k. I would rather spend that money on a lower mile car with less headaches.

Be wary of cars that are too good to be true. Back in December, I saw a similar car in my area being sold by a BMW dealer for $28. I believe they eventually sold it for $26. Granted, this isn't that far off but the one I saw had 108k miles. I drove it and it was a near 9/10 interior wise and maybe an 8.5-soft 9 exterior-wise. 100% bone stock, no mods.

Also interesting to note, that car in the link has an NC plate, but is listed as in Modesto CA. You see a lot of those types of pics on Craigslist and almost all of them turn out to be scams.

And to the obvious point; this is a $100k car when new and maintenance is commensurate with a $100k car. Personally, I'm looking at low mileage cars in the $32-37k range and fully understand that I'm going to pay through the nose for an Ext warranty or maintenance.

damn price is good but miles are high... I rather spend 35k and get something around 50k miles

I would do it and let me tell you why. In the end the depreciation balances the value out.

Last year when I bought my second m5 I had a chance to buy one with 90k miles for around 28k. Was loaded and stock.

I passed and bought one with less mileage in the 40s. With the warranty and all it ended up being close to 50 out the door.

I drive a lot and I drove this m5 a lot more than anticipated.

Now the value on my m5 is mid 20s wholesale/trade in. Had I put the same amount of miles I had on the 90k car the value would is at 22-23k for that car. After a time the mileage doesn't matter. Once the prices hit rock bottom they all balance out.

In the end the high mileage car assuming it ran like the way my current m5 is would have been a much better buy....value and resale wise.

Now I'm stuck with my m5 as losing almost 25k in a year is too tough to swallow. If you are like me and change cars often then buy high mileage and spend less.

If you plan on keeping your car and keep cars for 6-7 years...you should buy low mileage and the exact combo you want.

You're %100 right about the value

BUT you didn't talk about repair and maintenance?

Warranty cost on a 90k miles car?
