John,
Did you have a listen to your new M5 ?, just wondering how it sounded compared to a non comp pack car, with the sportier exhaust, regards, SIMON.

I think ONE BMW M car is enough, the Porsche cars are good not including the Panamera or cayenne.
But focused on two seats, I had the 928GTS 1995 model the last year of the car, and for it's time was great, only 5.6 too 60 though.
By todays standards thats very slow.

In my case at the moment I still need 4 good seats and comfort so M5, this could be my last expensive performance car as years are catching up fast, but who knows.

I was waiting for the Panamera but it turned out "Bus Wide"
Just no good on country roads here.

I had a "Lazer detector" in my RS4 and since them the UK Police are well up to speed so to speak about finding them on Cars, so I do not have one now.
If they find one on your car in the UK now they prosecute you for "perverting the course of justice" that carries a lot of clout here, so not worth the risk.
Well spotted though.
is this GPS rider really useful? what is the full name of your model? cause i am thinking to get something like that

how long were u waiting for your car and which dealer did u use if you don't mind asking! thnx

No Simon, not even seen it yet, it's 45 miles away at Listers.
Tracker being fitted tomorrow, then PDI, it's then going into a storage shed covered up for a few weeks.
Off to the bodyshop for prep.
I may get a look in a few weeks time, still waiting for my certificate for my private plate to come back, posted 11th July, no sign

It's called Novus "RIDER"

http://www.novus-gps.co.uk/Novus_GPS_Rider.php

It has saved me many times and updates are FREE.

I have it hard wired in all my new cars, this unit is 4 years old and going strong.

I wanted the LCI M5, thats why the wait, I could have had an M5 sooner.
I am using Listers Kings Lynn, they have given me great service and prices for the last 6 new BMW's beating all comers on price.

Sorry to hear about the windscreen, John, what a PITA. Still, at least you can build the excitement some more while you wait to collect the m5. It's such an epic car: the more I use the car, the more addicted I get to it!

I am really excited now , but this log book has been sent away now since 11th July, nothing back yet
This DVLA lot are taking their time unless it's lost.
Listers are getting a call tomorrow as they sent the book away.
They can sort it I hope.

1st September is a Sunday but listers say I can collect it then

I know I know but I got the M6 convertible for my wife and I want her to feel like it is her car and not mine. I also really fell in love with the way it drove and honestly it made me want to drive it more than my M5 so I figured the coupe was a good car for me. Plus I leased hers and who knows what she will want in a couple years. Who knows, I can always change my mind for a while since OCTOBER is so far away! I will drive the 991 C4S one more time for kicks but I have yet to have the Porsche impress me in the least. Intrigued by the Auid R8 as well but not so much. I have the F150 FX4 for my 4 door-lol! Honestly, it is my favorite vehicle. Sounds crazy, but when you have a nice truck you realize how easy and carefree it is and it just does everything you need. The view is pretty darn good too. :-)

If so Nope will not get the benefit here , it's top-end mainly.

The STD car is good enough.
I have the CYBA black Tips ready to fit and 3D Gel plates to go on which look fab.

OK I had the dealership take a picture of my LCI that I am collecting 1st September. I wanted to see whether the head lamps are still round.

They have NOT changed!!!! they look just like the old ones.

I do hope the "High beem assist" has changed to the new system.
Code 5AG so should be the new system.

So if you guys who have the 2012 model want to update looks, it's just front grill rear lights end off.

Garage List
2013 M5  [0.00]
2014 330d X Drive M ...  [0.00]
LED Lights

In the uk the LED lights are optional at £1495. Unless you have this option the daylight lights are still round and not squared off.

That's bonkers as on the German website they are FOC.

So the only difference between a standard M5 and lci are as follows:

Steering Wheel
Rear Lights
I-drive Controller

That now leaves just the competition pack at £6700.

Benefits are 15bhp more, 10mm lower, louder exhaust and alloys which some will like and others wont.

The standard M5 is more than fast enough for public road usage and you always see the traction light flashing when pushing moderately hard on a dry day. So what's the point of the additional 15bhp.

I am also in split opinion on this competition package in terms of future residual value. In 3 years what will be the difference between the 2 cars if they are the same age, options, mileage and the only difference being the competition package.

Any opinions?

You forgot the front grills (M5 Badge).
I agree the Competition Pack is all but worthless here in the UK.
I personally do not like those wheels in the Pack either.

STD Car more that enough.

Yes it is. I am quite happy with the FX4 however. It's a daily driver that I can toss anything in and it still looks good. No chrome. Black on black with factory tinted HID lights. Looks pretty sweet.

Agree I like the 343 20" alloys still.

If you opt for the comp pack, and you want to change the wheels to the 343 you have to pay more lol

That's going by the website

Opps. Missed that.

Yes agreed Comp package not worth for UK.

By the way where did you buy the Cyba black tips? Was it in the UK or imported from abroad.

The front lci grills not yet showing in dealer parts system yet.
