can you replace just one CC rotor?

One of my front rotors has a chip larger than than the permissible size of 2mm deep, 5mm wide and 10mm long. The cars has 42K miles with plenty of rotor life left. Can I replace a single front rotor? Second question is can I keep my existing pads in place with a new rotor?

I would say yes, the CC discs don't wear in the way metal discs do where you have to replace in pairs if lipped substantially.
So long as the other undamaged CC disc has the wear mark visibly intact then it'll be fine; as far as the pads are concerned didn't you just have them installed.. then they'll be ok.

Contact a specialist, if you're not paying for it due to damage at a shop then why not have a pair. If the Specialist says replace in pairs then the shop must do this.
