Cross bank manifold gasket replacement?
Slightly ot but as this engine is similar to n63 hoping someone can help
I also own 2 m5”s Wifes x5 50i with n63 motor got rebuilt 2 yrs ago part of customer care package. It has 2 weeks left on warranty and have had some noises and missfires, we found exhaust leak from cross bank manifold where it bolts to head The gaskets were not replaced during rebuilt which i find strange Can anyone confirm the correct process is to replace these when it was rebuilt? Bmw is quoting a lot to fix this and im hoping manifold isnt cracked? |

Just a guess, but I would think the turbo stuff has to come out as well as anything else in the way in the V. The exhaust gaskets are probably just thin metal and not the crushable gasket type. Those are generally reusable but again I'm just speculating.
Shouldn't they be taking care of the problems under warranty? Or are they arguing that since they weren't replaced as part of that job, that they won't warranty them now? Bastards! |
