Replacing engine oil from 5w-30 to 0w-40

Hi everyone. Im planning to switch to 0w-40 from 5w-30 on my next oil change. Is there anything to do differently other than an engine flush? Thanks!

I wouldn't flush it because I was changing weight.

Water thin flush oil could impact on the rod bearings also running the engine on it while stationary.

Any mods do you have? Are you tuned? What region of the country do you live in? Lastly, what is your primary reason for wanting to change your viscosity?

What I'm saying is its not good to flush M5 engine with flush oil, it's very thin so just change to your chosen oil.I would never use flushing oil on mine.

Exactly. Just drain the old oil out preferably when its hot and remove the oil filter casing, its a big engine so takes a while to drain out completely probably an hour actually to just drips then after replacing the oil pan nut with new washer and installing new filter fill with 9.5 litres of your chosen oil and check it off with the electronic oil capacity gauge and tick off the oil change service space on your dash menu.

You could swap to a 5W/40 with no issues.
