Back with an RS7.. Again!! 2017 Performance Version

So over the past few weeks Ive been trying to figure out what sedan I wanted to get. Did I want to wait for the new E63S? Or did I want to retry that RS7 I had for a year back in 2014 to 2015 but sold for a 2012 Ferrari FF. Well after driving the new Performance Edition and finding a properly spec'd car. I picked this up.

Its hard to compare to the 14 since it was many cars ago but:

Steering is greatly improved with much less understeer
The DRC dampeners are more firm and the car is very flat (4500 lb fatty)
The 605 stock hp is definitely felt along with the 553 lb ft of tq vs the old version.
I had some reservations about the white one I had with the lines and the whole rear of the car (love or hate polarizing looks) but this car is just bad ass in the Daytona Matte color.
The CCB's have very little fade if any and feel great when stopping this tank.

Its still a heavy car but its my new freeway ripper and traffic enduring machine. Oh the sound is incredible as Ive already pulled the resonators off; its loud and has all that bark and bite of my old one.

Here is a video of my old car with resonators off:

http://vid1371.photobucket.com/album...ps703a506e.mp4

And some impromptu shots today:

Did this replace the M5? RS7 is a great machine just like all the others.

Did you also consider the Panamera Turbo?

M5 is gone sir--- it was a great car and completed its 2nd tour of duty with me (I had two F10's). Now its time for the RS7 to step up and last a year LOL.

I didnt consider the Panny:

Pricing (while relative to what one has) was not realistic in my mind.
Once I saw and drive this RS7 I was sold and then my contacts at Audi made the pricing that much sweeter so I grabbed it.

I think its around 3.2 or close to 3.0 depending on the test and the conditions.

Vic, very nice always thought this was a proper sounding car with some teeth. Not sure why BMW can't make better sounding cars. Agree the panni pricing is insane, and not worth the depreciation. Heck I've even looked at a Porsche Spyder which has the 911 3.8l manual only. I'm so confused on cars man to replace the M4. No I have to look at this again

Wow. That is a stunning car boss. Like others have said, keep those stock wheels. I'm the type who gets to modding right away, but something about this car in stock form with the mild drop is just too enticing.

Enjoy in good health.

So sadly yet not sadly the car did not have it... Akrapovic is the maker of this exhaust and has an agreement similar to BMW and the Performance Exhaust option. While the exhaust sounds brilliant, I just removed the two sets of resonators and created an even more racious sound IMHO. So if the car had it, I would have taken it but it didnt and it was 9k less

Thanks Henry- take a drive with D-S mode and change the Dynamic suspension setting to Auto vs Dynamic. Further remember how fat the car is and you will be impressed.

Thank you kind sir.

I think a tune bumps the 560hp version (I have the 605hp car) up to 680 or 700hp and 800 lb/ft of tq via an AWD car (crank numbers). My car has bigger turbines and some other tweaks to get to the OEM 605 hp and 553 tq.

I believe the tunes out there are good on my car as well and while my gains wont be as big (higher baseline) its still a healthy amount of usable torque and hp. Ill do it

I had the same tranny in the past RS7 and others like my Bentley GT3R and Jag F Type R; I have no complaints about the tranny as long as the electronics behind it support the type of driving I like to do. Which in the aforementioned cars was very good: gears held up to redline and downshifting occurred correctly as speeds reduced (Drive mode of course vs manual).

I still have DCT with my others and it is the optimal transmission no doubt but once this car is tuned the tq limit would exceed the DCT ceiling.

Makes sense. I am excited for the next RS7. I always liked the car despite my reservations about its interior.

Second tour of duty for your RS7 too. Now we can bet whether your next sedan is E63S, F90 M5, or the AMG GT Sedan we have seen testing on the ring.
