Holy shit! This is only the V-Sport! To keep things in comparison, this car is pretty much a direct competitor for the BMW M550i not the M5.

This car sounds like a tuners wet dream come true!

Basic highlights include:

- Hot-V Twin Turbo V8
- Forged Crankshaft and Rods right from the factory.
- Mitsubishi Turbos with titanium turbine blades
- Standard AWD system
- Will make 550hp in top configuration compared to M550i's 456hp.

I can imagine that the next Generation CTS-V will use this engine instead of another Corvette Z06 engine and that the next CTS-V will also be AWD. Seems like Cadillac really does not want to give up with competing with the Germans. More competition is always good for consumers I always say. But if this CT6 V-Sport is an indicator of things to come, what will the next CTS-V have? 700hp? The horsepower wars are far from over I think.

C&D have a great write up on this new engine; it sounds fantastic from the specs.

Hope it goes into the ‘hot’ version of the C8 Covette.

As I have just written in another thread, I think CTS-V is a good car and should get better with each generation, but that GM interior styling, unless something changes there I won't buy one.

That said, I hope Lexus is working on a V8 version of the new LS flagship (rumor was a new turbo V8).

At this point, not having a V8 engine means you cannot compete in this flagship segment.

With the disappointing reviews on the M550i, it will not compare to a V nor V Sport! No Way!! The V's were always meant to compete with the M5 and the ATS V with the M3/4.

The top version will produce 550 hp at 5,700 rpm and 627 lb-ft at 3,200-4,000 rpm, or 500 hp at 5,000-5,200 rpm and 553 lb-ft at 2,600-4,600 rpm. The difference is primarily in the tuning, with the only mechanical difference being a more restrictive (quieter) exhaust on the lower-output version. That compares reasonably well with the German hot-V twin turbos, including Mercedes-AMG’s 4.0-liter (469-603 hp and 479-664 lb-ft depending on application), Audi’s 4.0-liter (450-605 hp and 406-516 lb-ft), and BMW’s 4.4-liter (552-600 hp and 500-553 lb-ft).

Vsport will compete with the Newer M3 and M4(rumored 500 hp) when they come out.

CT6 is closer to 7 series in size than 5 series.
