ED pricing question

So I'm about to start negotiating my ED - I was originally thinking summer but Ive moved it up to March. I know it's still early but I want to make sure I have the right advisor (since the one I had a deposit down with left for AMG and didnt tell me) and I need to figure out all the logisitcs with ED as well as plan my trip.

Sorry if some of these questions have been answered before in other threads, but Ive been off the board for a while b/c its too painful to see all these M5s getting delivered!

1.) Those doing ED - are you getting below ED MSRP? If so, how much off?
2.) Those that financed - did you have to use BMW FS for ED?
3.) ED Drop-off. Im doing ED on the backend of my trip, so I wont be taking the car out at all - just shipping it out. How do I go about paying just to have BMW take care of this?
4.) Is PCD scheduling taken care of at the dealer? And how do you time planning a trip to SC if the timetable for shipment is 4-6 weeks? How far out do they give u a conclusive date so you can get an airline ticket?

Thx

1. I did, but it was out of the ED pool. I think you should be able to get something off ED MSRP because there are a lot of M5s out there in dealer inventory. For example, there are 686 M5s affected by the oil pump recall and about a third of those are in dealer inventory.

2. I didn't finance, but I'm sure I saw someone post there are places that will finance an ED car.

3. If I were you I would drive the car to the drop-off point yourself (this is what I did). It's at the Munich airport - only a half hour drive (25 miles). Just make sure you get a delivery time at least 2 hours before the drop-off location closes. Alternatively you can pay 60 Euro to have someone from the logistics company come to the Welt and drive it to the airport location for you, or pay 75 Euro and the logistics company will send a flat bed to haul it to the airport location. However you decide to go, it'll go through the LOGINOUT location at the airport and be trucked up to Bremerhaven.

4. Yes, your dealer will inform BMW you want PCD. They will tell you this will add about 2 weeks to your delivery timeline. I've never done PCD so I do not know how far in advance of your PCD appointment it will be scheduled.

What is the ED pool? Does each dealer get a certain amount of ED allocations that do not count against their regular allocations?

Basking Ridge. I used Flemington BMW. Your ability to get below MSRP will depend on the dealer and how many allocations they have, but it seems like it should be possible.

When the first production batch was allocated, a separate pool of cars were allocated to the ED program. That pool has been used up, so ED orders now come out of dealer allocations.

You can try Aimon at park ave bmw in nj. I know he can make it happen, he's particularly specialized in individual orders. You can tell him Sharif referred you, nothing to gain just pleased by his work.

Thx guys - so it looks like my advisor will go below ED MSRP so I may just stick with them. If it doesnt work out Ill contact Park Ave, which is actually closer to me.

I just returned from my ED trip. I must say that driving my M5 in Germany and Austria was an unforgettable experience. The mountain passes and highway alike. IMHO you are really doing yourself a disservice by not taking a drive while over there!!! Even just a 1 or 2 day jaunt. Simply amazing in that car!!

If I can get ED invoice or even ED MSRP I would place an order right now. (sadly you can't) :/

Why wouldn't you be able to at least get ED MSRP? Isnt that pretty much the most you could pay for a ED?

I feel like you should shop around more. I believe others have ordered below ED MSRP since the initial ED pool dried up. I just don't know how close to invoice those prices were.... That's what I was trying to gage with my question. Thankfully, I won’t be getting mine till Jun-Sept. next year so HOPEFULLY the big initial rush and interest will have worn off.

I paid ED Invoice +2,500 after everything went to dealer allocation.

Was bummed out that I couldn't get the initial deal, but I was eligible for $2,250 of incentives and skipped the oil pump fiasco. It worked out, love the car, and ED is a great experience.
