M5 stock rod/main bearings

I have read a few threads about engine failures, and was hoping to get an opinion on the root cause. There appeared to be some failures early on due to an oil pump issue which has since been fixed it sounds like. Are there any issues with the stock rod bearings or main journal bearings? Should they be replaced on a stock engine just as a preemptive maintenance item? Any other weak points to be aware of?

This is how the rumors start

The only issue is rods bending on cars from either injector or coil issue or poorly tuned cars

Not trying to start a rumor, there actually seem to be a lot of posts like this one: https://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1289209
I made the post because there are many threads like it but none that I saw that gave an actual explanation. With the E60 M5s it appeared to be that the stock clearances were too tight and the stock crankshaft too soft a metal.
