Oil Usage

I changed my oil about 2500km (1500 miles) ago and now I got a message that oil level is at minimum and add 1 quart of oil.

I used Liqui-Moly 5W40. I do drive hard everyday, so is this normal? Car has 38,000km (23,600 miles), its stock apart from Project-Gamma intakes.

Any input is appreciated!

It is on the higher end of "normal", but normal none-the-less. Not a sign of a problem unless previously you were getting much better consumption. Did you change the oil yourself or take it somewhere? I ask because one factor could be they didn't put quite enough oil in. If you're starting down 1/4 - 1/2 quart, it will make the consumption look much worse than it really is. What weight is the oil? Lastly, I would top it up to full and drive again and see if the rate can be duplicated. Make sure you drive the car easy until the oil temp gauge starts moving. These engines don't like be thrashed when "cold". Usually 10-15 minutes of driving easy is enough to warm it up.

I took it somewhere to get it changed, I'm not sure what the previous consumption was because this was the first oil change since I bought it used. They put 5W40. Yeah I never drive the car hard unless I see the oil temp gauge move, so it just must be me driving crazy. Because I do drive it like I stole it everyday haha

What grade of LM is it, where you are you're maybe better off with a thinner viscosity.

I'm in Canada, so we do have hot summers and cold winters, but since the oil change was done it has been cold. The grade was 5W40
