Spacers

Could someone guide on what size spacers I could run with a rear 305 MPSS tire and Lowered on KW HAS kit.

Not that this may be much help but im a 2013 M5, 12mm spacers all around with 305 P zero on the back. Fit perfectly fine, could probably run 15mm if i wanted. For your case, being lowered makes it more difficult, from what i know if i had to guess i wouldnt go more than 10mm for sure, 10mm may or may not fit without rubbing. To be safe you could go 5mm. The MPSS are also slightly bulkier/wider than the P zero 305

Check out Obssessed Garage's Project M5, he has a list of mods and I do believe that he put on 15MM on a lowered setup with a wider tire. He has a bunch of videos on YouTube just look up "obssessed garage M5 modifications"

IIRC he did 12mm front and 10mm back. It seems most popular to go wider on the front than back. Anyone know the reason for this?

I've done MS 10mm front and 15mm back. I wanted to do it this way to accentuate the staggered stock setup. What a difference in stance, totally worth it. Should have done it a long time ago.

Stock CP wheels and suspension. No issues. No rub. Slight vibration at 80mph but I think that is a wheel balancing issue.

Yeah I read that thread. But what is the reason that most people do 12mm front and 10mm back rather than the other way around? If you ask me the fronts don't look too bad stock. It's the rears that really need it.

Most guys feel the 12 up front and the 10 in the rear squares off the car. I had 10mm all around before my Velos wheels and I liked it no rubbing. Then when I went back to stock wheels I went with 12mm all around. I think its perfect. Really just personal preference, I wouldnt do any more than 12 up front.

Indeed some people think wider spacers "square-off" the look. I just still don't see it. I did 10mm on the front and I think that was just enough. Or maybe 12mm as you did as the max. It's easy to "overdo" the fronts with 15mm and make them stick out further than the rears and it looks weird to my eyes.

I really think it's the rears that need more help with spacing than the fronts. Most people who look at the M5 don't realize it's a staggered setup stock. The rear tires are so nice and beefy even as stock size but they're hiding in those wheel-wells. Why not show them off?

Some people on the forum may think having a 5mm difference from front to back may look disproportionate or extreme but I would say it's just a subtle effect. I wasn't sure either but took a chance. I know the OP was asking about +1 tire size with HAS. (sorry to hijack your thread) When it comes to 15mm on the rear with that setup, I'm not too sure. But as you can see by the pics the tires do sit very flush with the fender so I'd say it would be a real close call. Seen plenty of members do 10 and 12mm without a problem though.

My car has M6 M343's.
The front equates to a 7mm spacer by being 0,5" wider but retaining the same offset.

The rears are also 0,5" wider, and has a 15mm lower offset, equating to a 22mm spacer.

They did only rub on very very har acceleration in soft suspension setting with 295 Michelin Supersport tires.

This winter I had 3mm taken off the hubs making it 19mm, I also changed to 295 Michelin PS4S tires.
Looks like they will just clear now.

Not that tires are different, I put som Michelin Alpine 4 for winter tires, but they poked out about a 1/4" and rubbed like crazy.

But back to spacers, 10mm front and 15mm should be just fin on stock wheels.

I'm interested in spacers as well, my issue is I would want to try a few different setups to see what I like the look of. Do some shops have multiple sizes they can try on? Or I guess I could buy a few sizes and send back what I don't like?

I also wish I could do the same. Try a few, return what I don't like. But nope, nearly all vendors will state that they won't accept returns on spacers. The reason is obvious. It's nearly impossible to put them on with ZERO wear and tear on the spacer/extended bolts. They WILL show signs of use no matter what, so they can't resell.

It's probably the reason why you see spacers pop up on the marketplace section from time to time
