Passport 9500ci and TSR

Wwll, I may be the last person to have figured this out, but just in case I am the second to last and it can help someone, here goes. I have the 9500ci in my Traverse (I have the Bell StiR in the M5 which works the same way). About a year or so ago, I started getting a very high number of false K band alerts. It would go to full alert and then trickle down. Sometimes this would not happen at all and other times it would happen incessantly. It was driving me crazy to the point where I was considering shutting the thing down. Well, I finally got off my lazy arse and did a quick Google search. Turns out some of the systems they use to monitor traffic use K band and were causing these alerts. Passport has a feature to deal withthis calle TSR, but for some reason, the factory defualt setting is "off". Toggled this on and I am now a happy boy again!

Apologies to those of you who actually RTM (and I believe I did way back when) and already know this.

Great info! I've had the same issue. Will definitely enable this feature.

I run ( stir+) always in highway.

Pop - on
TSR - off
RDR - off
SWS - off
LSR off ( due to my laser jammer don't need both warnings)

With some research you can adjust the bands that your detector is looking at. By narrowing the band to what law enforcement uses you get faster response and almost no falsies.

I run the bow settings based on my area and what I found on rdforum.

X - off
K- don't remember my exact settings, will have to plug in to look.
Ka2,3,5,6,8 &9 on rest off. This has performed excellent for me.

2, 5 and 8 are the main KA bands in use. I have read recently of reports of some on 4 as well.

I run 2, 4, 5, 6, 8.

Where do I find the information as to what bands should be on for NY and the Northeast?
