Be me to it.
Absolutely OUTSTANDING!!! What else do you expect from the powerhouse of McLaren. https://jalopnik.com/hybrid-mclaren-...lde-1851666342 The heart of the W1 is a plug-in-hybrid powertrain that uses a brand new twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 dubbed the MHP-8. This flat-plane-crank motor makes 915 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque on its own, and it revs all the way up to 9,200 rpm, the highest of any McLaren, achieved by using plasma spray coated cylinder bores. It also has the highest specific output of any McLaren at 230 hp per liter, and the turbos have higher peak power and improved response, coming in at 2,500 rpm. To make sure the W1 sounds fantastic, the giant dual exhaust tips that exit from the center of the rear end have tubular manifolds and long equal-length runners. Mounted to the side of the W1’s new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission is a radial flux electric motor and motor control unit in a similar setup to what IndyCar uses, and the whole unit weighs only 44 pounds. The motor makes 342 horsepower, about double what the P1’s electric motor produced, and it can spin at up to 24,000 rpm. It’s fed energy by a 1.4-kWh battery pack housed as low as possible in a cavity of the monocoque’s floor. As a whole, the W1’s hybrid system is 88 pounds lighter than that of the P1, but with double the power. Total output from the powertrain is 1,258 hp and 988 lb-ft. There are ten total heat exchangers and three separate water cooling circuits that run at different temperatures, one of which is dedicated to the hybrid system, and a separate oil-to-air radiator for cooling the transmission. |

Meh. Looks a bit messy and hybrid, all it needed was a V12. The P1 looks a lot better

Now I'm not so mad I didn't get an allocation. Senna values going up after this drop I bet.
Maybe the W2 GTR will be cooler.

Looks OK. Not a McLaren aesthetics fan in general.

I think it looks nice.
I've never been a fan of the P1 / 650 style headlights/front and this is a big step away from that. Also a big step away from the 720/750 But my problem with McLaren styling is that there is absolutely no central design style there. Every few years the look of the cars totally change. It's all over the place. To me it seems that they just can't get out of that 'beginners brand' phase that they are searching for a brand design style and brand naming. TBH I think the MP4-12C is still designwise their best model, especially considering it's now a 13 year old design.

Pretty good looking for a Mac. Huge disappointment finding out it's a plug in hybrid...
I'd rather they put lead in the floor than batteries. Sigh.

It would be a W1 GTR though right? The F1 GTR wasn't a F2 GTR

As for the guy complaining about the build quality, that's pretty cool I hear that from a lot of people who don't own them. Weird how I have no issues, and everyone I know with them doesn't have issues outside of the usual electrical gremlins from time to time like the windows needing to be reset. Edit: Except when gintani gets to it and adds way too much timing that blows it up..
