Mattia Binotto Replaced
Not shocking news, but the timing of the announcement seems a bit odd (only one remaining race in the '22 season).

Yeah just read the same. He is a nice guy but they seem somewhat chaotic internally with too many mistakes. They had the fastest car but just didn't capitalise on it with strategy.

Binotto gave the impression of being a kind person.
02:10 - 03:01: Michael Schumacher introduces young Binotto:

I like what I've seen of Binotto, and he is supposedly a brilliant engineer. With that said, this seems like a reasonable move that has been long enough coming.
For Charles's and Sainz's sake, I hope Vasseur reassigns the strategy lead (Rueda?)... and brings in someone who's a hammer... or as much of one as the team will tolerate (work culture is different in Italy). I'll never hope for someone to get fired for my entertainment. so - I hope he finds a good fit. Maybe Binotto can focus on engine/chassis tweaks at home in Marenello. ?? |

Now the report is being denied by Ferrari. Strange.

I'm one of the people who believes that Binotto does not deserve punishment.
He is literally the brains behind the incredible cars that Ferrari builds. Even after they got busted for the fuel flow sensors, they managed to barely spend any credits and wildly improve their cars. He's a brilliant man - there just needs to be accountability in the strategy department. |

He is Ferrari's Team Principal. Regardless of his previous success at a lower position he is responsible for the success or failure of the team. He has had 4 years to correct the strategic mistakes the continue to make.
I think he should resign and take the head PU Engineering position, which seems to be what he excels at. |

Frenchy Freddy Ferrari may be a thing. Who knows.
Word has it (as many of you know) that Ferrari family ownership politics will tie the hands of whomever is in the TP role. So... yes, Binotto is a brilliant engineer, and he may be a great team principle, but... Ferrari has to Ferrari, so... we may never know. I'm interested to see how this plays out. The chaos is not just limited to in-game decision-making. It is endemic to the organization and the power structure within. Huge Kudus to anyone who can win compete consistently in that environment. |

I don’t think I’d trust anything Ferrari says. Weren’t they saying similar things about Vettel shortly before they dumped him?
They’d be crazy not to put him back where he has excelled for so many years and get a new principal in there. Unless he chooses not to of course and retires. |

I think Binotto puts his trust into other staff members who are failing him and everyone else. Yes, some responsibility is his but Binotto is not holding the team back from being a dominant force in F1. |
