I think this is a great idea, I'd be interested in buying a set once completed.

1 final fin is on my car this moment from this morning install and 2 more are currently finishing up printing now. Mounts via 1 screw into the main body (black screw) and double sided tap...not really needed due to design, but cant hurt. Also there are 2 screw holes that "can" be used as well...if you desire, but not needed for a proper install.
More pics? Straight on from about 5-10 feet away and close up.

I wanted a diffuser for the longest time. Nearly all are carbon fiber, which I don't care for, and worse yet will block the " kick to open" comfort access that I use nearly every day. I didn't want to lose that.

I had thought of this exact idea a year ago. The existing options out there for fins look terrible and cheap. The profile wouldn't match our cars at all. Abandoned the idea.

I finally decided to give in and sacrifice the comfort access for the way better looks of the OEM M performance diffuser insert. I was literally about to pull the trigger and saw this thread.

Is the mounting hardware from the inside? If it isn't it wouldn't be a bad thing. All would be hidden externally. Even if it means removing the insert for installation.

Thank you sir. Add me to the list. Exactly what I was looking for. 3 fins and it's gonna look great!

I was pretty much at the exact same mental process as you...then opted to just design and 3D print a solution vs OEM middle.

All mounting is recessed so unless you were under the car, you will not see any hardware. There will be slight variances in mounting L/M/R fins. As the existing mounting holes/structure needed it to be this way. More detailed info once V2.1 is dont printing and mounted.

*In the mean time, I designed and now printing 3 slants (color appropriate), a slanted M and a keychange base for these characters to be mounted (super glued) to. Opted this route vs multi color print job to achieve the same outcomde w/o seeing color/layer shifts.

I like those! But I think two fins (L&R) is optimum. Nice!

I agree, I'll be running 2 myself. But wanted to offer the middle for others that wanted a 3 fin setup.
