Does anyone know where the starter is located on a f10 M5?

Maybe going crazy , but seems you may need to drop the subframe to change the starter . Anyone where it is exactly ?

Its definitely hidden away. If you remove the reinforcement plate on the front subframe you might gain enough access.

Are you referring to big silverplate with 8 16mm boots holding it in?. I did remove that still no luck

Yeah that one. Looks more than possible to me. It's on the right hand side of the engine block.
