I love the soft close feature. Wish I had it on all my other cars. A car of this level deserves to have it.

why is comp a must?

executive is only important for the LED lights, other than that.. waste.

Not sure if BMW grouped LED lights into the executive package for later cars, but my 2014 has LED light package without executive package.

Firstly thank you for all the replies! What a great response from this community!

Can anyone answer this:

if a passenger was to slam the door shut without knowing about the soft close option. Does that prevent the "slamming" noise and effect and does soft close still engage?

Or does soft close only work if your passenger is aware of the option, or if you push the door gently enough to latch but not close fully?

And i understand as a package soft close maybe worth it, but in the UK we have no exec pack. I'm just trying to see if the option as a standalone is worth it or not.

The rub is that if you are on a budget - definitely wouldn't bother. But if you have kids &/or general use it is nice.

If you slam the door, it is just slammed shut, you jut don't need to so need to educate your passengers.

I agree, a definite must. Everytime I get in a customers car I feel like I'm in the 70s, having to close the door fully myself. Not many have soft close.
Outrageous.

You guys are bonkers.

How hard is it to close a door, even to close it quietly isn't exactly difficult

You'll scare the wildlife with all that door banging
Have you not got it on yours then.

I do agree with you actually. Although I did say soft close doors are a must, I think that might be slightly incorrect. My old e60 didn't have soft close doors and no matter how lightly you pulled on them they would just close perfectly, no effort and no noise. Some cars you do have to give a little persuasion though.
