That's been the case for a number of years. People don't care.

Looks like the ECU is pulling power purposefully.

If this is true and I were an early adopter I would be awfully upset and feel like I've been screwed. My interpretation, Chevy built a poser engine to boast numbers that are unusable. Not sure I believe that emissions were the driving force either, but sure is the buzzword these days.

According to certain tuners the car is set up to run very rich and when it gets 'hot' its pulling timing, making the car slower obviously. Tuners are stating that leaning the car out, safely, will be easy and 'should' enhance drivability by lowering the timing issue. Problem of course is that the warranty is then toast; not something I'd be crazy about on a first year vehicle. Might be prudent to wait for GM to sort this out and get a 2016.

I admit I don't know the mech engineering details and agree with what you're saying. But, frankly that's the same for most cars. I would think these guys and gals who bought this thing who wanted a track ready car are going to be pretty disappointed. Again, I don't know what the deal is, but it just smells a little fishy. Of course, if it is like other other performance cars, a lot of the buyers will just park at Starbucks and it won't matter.

Saw this car in person today. looked so plasticky, Looked like the aero parts were just thrown on. I don't know...cheap is how I would describe it. I saw pictures and thought it would be so much nicer. Overall, it just wasn't anything too special. A muscle car sot of appeal. Not the least bit refined looking. To each his own I suppose. honestly, I prefer the look of the normal C7. Classier in that the style seems more well thought out.

Nah....hard to explain. It was like it seemed pieced together-especially the rear spoiler. I swear if you told me they just randomly bolted on whatever was laying around with a hacksaw and a socket set I'd believe you.

Lol agreed. it seems like someone went to home Depot and just tacked on random angled parts. I am glad that I bought a viper and not a Z06.

Seriously? I think the car looks fantastic. Yes the Aero stands out on the Z07 package, but that's because it's designed to do so. It is also adjustable, at least the wicker bill is on the rear spoiler, so the adjusting screws are a little more prominent than I'd prefer. But this car was built to blitz the road course and I think it has the suspension, steering and brakes to do it. What remains unknown at this time is how well the drivetrain holds up in high ambient temps on > 4th lap, etc.

Further the interior, especially when the dash is the Carbon option and its a 3LZ is the best GM have done IMHO. With the Competetion Seats it is a great place to sit.

When a Z06 is parked next to a 'regular' C7 it is mighty imposing and makes the C7 look far less impressive. YMMV.

Agree. GM may be a mess, but the Corvette racing program has their shit together. I'll hold final judgement until I see one in person.

While I am sure the performance is stellar, it is the cosmetics I really didn't like. So much so that I had one that I could have jumped on and I decided against it. Subjective I suppose. I don't like the non-fluid appearance of the car's lines. The whole flow is broken up by the tacky bolted on look of the spoiler at the rear. Functional or not, I would never be happy with that. GM certainly could have put some more thought into the aesthetics. Rest of the car was nice. I do like the interior of the new Vettes.

Well, be honest... It's not at the level of refinement that you are accustomed to clearly.
The Z06 is the 'average joes' super car. And so you get what you pay for.
