This is no record for me. Porsche Turbo lasted 6 days. Like the Turbo S was a better car, so is the 650S. Faster, better suspension and gearbox setup and more precise steering. It also looks better IMO.

I'm wondering which one wins the competition? P1 or 918?

By design the Ferraris have always been more compliant by nature, at least in later models. My buddy has the 2014 458 Spider and we talk all the time about how soft the Ferrari feels compared to the razor's edge feel of the 650S. Depends on what you like. Personally, I prefer the more F1 race car feel.

Although the LaFerrari is gorgeous. My wife sorta liked it.

I was driving for Mclaren this year in the blancpain championship and there was always this lack of uncertainty in the Mclaren as compared to the Ferrari. The window at the edge is much smaller than the ferrari. I had the same feeling when comparing Mclaren road cars to ferrari road cars.

No arguing the track balance of the Ferrari vs. any manufacturer. That has been the 458's claim to fame for several years now. It is the benchmark. Again, however, it depends on the preference you have for the feel of the car. Ultimately, I passed on a gorgeous 458 spider that I had ordered in favor of the MAC purely on driving characteristics. I think the Ferrari is the most beautiful car on the road. Being in the driver's seat just didn't excite me. In fact, I enjoyed a weekend in an FF more than I did the driving experiences in the 458 mostly because it did what I expected very well. The 458 lacks in performance IMO for a supercar. It just isn't there. I am off track though a bit, however, I see very distinct similarities in comparing the 458 to the 650S and the P1 to the La Ferrari. However, not having driven the latter, it would be unfair of me to argue the differences. Unless you are a hard core track guy, which most drivers (and owners of the P1 and Laferrari are not-thus they are dubbed "road cars" by the manufacturers) when you get to that level of car you sort of have to go with looks I believe.. In that case, I'd prob. take the LaFerrari.

lol! Those Michelins are likely the next ones I'll put on the MAC. Pirellis are not my choice. These Corsas, as I am sure you know, we made specially for the 650S and they are pretty darn sticky. We will see how they do for now.
Mike - damn dude! I drove the 650S extensively. 5% better in all categories. The CCBs are exceptional...significantly better than stock 12C brakes (my biggest complaint of the car). Congrats!

I also am not generally a pirelli street tire fan. I put MPSC2 tires on my 12c and to be honest, I would stick with your corsas. The sport cup 2s may prove better at extremes on the track, but around town they feel worse to me...they need a lot of heat in them to grip well.

Hey Rob! So you DID get a MAC! I didn't know that. I knew you were looking. I know I saw you post comments over there but Inthought you were just chatting up some owners. Very cool!

Yeah, I like the Corsas. Great street tire so far. To be honest man, there are things I like better about the 12C and things I prefer in the 650S. A little better feel to the ceramics, and significantly more precise steering and the torque curve is crazy! They are both amazing cars! Post a few pics here. Would love to see. We have another board member buddy who is looking for one at the moment too. :-) I'll let him announce it when he gets one...

Yeah, McLaren boards are boring!

Yes sir, will never forget it! Good memory by the way, that was about a year ago! .2 RS values are skyrocketing, I regret not buying it. If the right one comes along, I will surely have it over the 991. But the 991 GT3 isn't a bad plan B is it

Sorry didnt mean anything about your decision with the MAC. It is definitely a beautiful car and much sexier than the 458 with no doubt. Definitely much faster as well.
As per hypercars, which do you find the prettiest? 918, koenigsegg, Lafferari, P1, or Pagani.

If it was me I would go 100% Laferrari but then again maybe I like Ferraris a little too much.

^ For me it would be the P1. Seeing the car in the flesh is just astonishing. The aero and technology is phenomenal. I have yet to see the la ferrari in person though. The 918 is nice but visually tame in comparison.

[edit: my P1 pics won't post for some reason]

My personal experiences in a 430 and 458 were not inspiring. The character of the cars did not match my desires. I need some seat time in a Scud or Speciale to see if that's more my style.

ColdList you are too much man. I love you and I hate and then I go back to loving you all the time. Lol! The 650S has got to be so sweet. I hope to one day be able to afford a 12C. Also, for some reason I feel like the interior of the LaFerrari is far nicer than the interior of the P1. The P1 interior seems so minimalist. But the exterior of the P1 wins for me. I've yet to see either in the flesh. Hopefully one day. Have fun with the 650S!
