Your challenge will be not having any carbon and not having the LED wheel. Those are "must have" options for a lot of Ferrari owners, particularly the wheel-especially those who would consider late models. Here we go again talking about resale. Who cares...

You might joke but I actually really liked my Cali for what it was. Great little car to run round town in. Nowhere near as fun to drive as a Porsche, MAC, 458, etc. but it did what you expected it to do and it did it well and still had that Ferrari aura. The wife and I loved taking cruises in it. If she didn't need more room I'd buy her one. That's the thing about some of these cars to me. They have some unique characteristics and the ones you might not expect to please you do. Take the FF for example. I still stand by my assessment of it being one of the most amazing cars that I have ever driven.

Agreed. Not the best assessment but an easy quick look at how many are on the market. I know the Ferrari brand extremely well and have a pretty solid grip on pricing, features, etc. The fact that there is no discernible difference between a 2012-2014 (excepting the prevalence of the diamond cut wheels which are a desirable option)) bodes well for the 2012. 2013-2014s are taking hard hits at the moment. I often think about just taking one home from FOA when I am there every week (almost considered doing so on Wed. because of how aggressively one could be purchased) but the draw of the 458-T keeps me away...as it is doing with a large segment of potential buyers in the mid-high $200's range.

Yeah I knew about the carbon and led wheel--- if you are a member at F chat they say its not a dire need and I paid sizeably less on a car due to that so its a wash to me.... wait here we go again LOL and you are right who cares!!!

And my Cali comment was no joke. My friend owns a very high line level dealership in Newport (where I got the F car) and he had a lowered one with 21's- with the roof up it looked incredible. The FF is THE daily driver Ferrarri but they still price up in the higher 200's.

Agreed. Resale is of course a concern but never really makes the decision. My MAC is a disaster on resale but I just can't get myself to sell it. I keep saying that I will do it but I don't know. I get in it and it just is so exhilarating to feel that rush...which is THE reason I bought it (along with the exotic look). They NEVER appealed to me in the way that Ferrari did at all in terms of the heritage and special feel of just sitting n the car. But I like the crazy performance and it has a good tuned sound.

Very surprised you would consider the Cali after beating me over the head about mine-LOL! My local dealer actually still has mine for sale. I thought about going in and offering to buy it back of what I traded it for-lol I seriously had this convo with my Ferrari buddy the other day. It is a VERY cool car to drive around. I wold 100% buy one for the wife if it was practical for her. She is drooling over the Cali-T.

I didnt beat you over the head, thats just what you inferred thru text. I was hard on the looks and still am, but as I mentioned, the lowered one with wheels was rather stunning. Im fairly certain though I wont get one--- 2 F cars is not for me.

I don't take stuff as seriously as you might think. I wasn't offended. I just meant that I thought you really didn't like the Cali. Giving serious thought to selling the MAC and maybe getting into another Ferrari at some point but Henry will likely hit me over the head. He is the voice of reason...Tim is the voice of doom-lol!

Yep all the sound and the 7 years maintenance. I was able to get my 2014 for rather cheap including the Novitec Wheels, Tires, front lip, rear spoiler, Novitec drop, and Capristo Catless exhaust for a very good price (30k in mods) or the 2012 would have been the option.

I love this video:

Great minds ....

I was just looking at a white one online with red interior. I dont know much about these cars. Whats the difference between the DB9 and the Vanquish besides the size?

Well for one thing every body panel is carbon fiber.....and just look at the interior and the quilted stitching...wow! It is a HOT car. Henry should get one.

Vanquish is the GT among them. The DB9 and its more hardcore DBS are both 2 seaters only and are meant to be more serious driving machines than the Vanquish. I prefer the Vanquish cos I need the 2 rear seats for my 2 rascals. It's a car I could use in family outings without resorting to the M5 unless I need to haul serious stuffs in the boot. However more serious the DB9/DBS are, they will never get close to the Speciale, so no point duplicating functions in my cars. They all sound awesome at pretty much any rev. They also don't rev very high making them very easy to enjoy on street roads

but the Vanquish is faster right? It has more hp than the DB9...

I believe the Vantage V12s is the quickest (3.7 second 0-60mph and very low 12's in the 1/4 mile) of the fleet, but it lacks the refinement, prestige, and luxury of flagship models....

Traction and transmissions are the achilles heel's (performance numbers are undesirable IMO for a 300k car), but the Benz alliance will solve that in the not-so-distant future.

The DBS is the quickest among the fat Astons. Vantage V12 is slightly faster, but has a shit gearbox. The next DB9 replacement should be slightly faster than the current Vanquish. They leapfrog one another...

I am holding my breath on that. I just hope it won't result in AMG turbo V8s replacing the Aston NA V8s. The AMG dual clutch gearbox would be a really nice addition for the Vantage!
