I always buy cars in route or on the ground as I don't like to wait LOL. So to answer your question, yes I got all the performance options I wanted and some bonus pieces only on the Edition 1. Is it the perfect build for me, probably 97% there; I really wanted white but its not available in ED1 cars.

I love the bonus things that the ED1 has:

Carbon Fiber Roof
AMG Aerodynamics Package
Fixed Wing
Edition 1 Nappa Exclusive Leather

Some other must have options that are available on the normal GTS:

AMG Dynamic Plus Package
Active Engine Mounts

The carbon fiber roof is a cool exclusive option for the Edition 1, and certainly a feature that would make an Edition 1 noticeably standout. Looks like regular models can option the panoramic glass, but I'd MUCH rather have the carbon fiber.

That Dynamic Plus Package is Mercedes version of Porsche's Sport Chrono?

So essentially you got the perfect build, sans the preferable white color and the perhaps desirable CCB's. Very nice indeed

Thanks, The DPP is this (pulled from the MBUSA build) so in part yes its like the sport chrono pack (non GT3) where there is more power/boost for a period of time. But the MBZ DPP has other adds as well:

Dynamic engine and transmission mounts
Widened power band
Dynamically enhanced handling features
AMG Performance steering wheel (full DINAMICA)

LOL! Is there a car you reviewed that you didn't buy? I knew this was coming. I really dislike alcantara but to each his own. I do like the car though.

Yep to each their own... I like to review these cars for the benefits of others as well. There have been a lot of great cars out lately to drive and enjoy. The GTS is just the latest.

Now that's what an AMG GT should look like... I am in awe Vic... How do you do it! How do you change your cars so frequently? Do you just get bored of your cars and choose your least favourite to chop in for the latest toy on the market! Let's face it, this one won't be around for more than 3 months.
Does it sound as good as the Jaaaaag?

Yeah, we all appreciate your reviews but I am just thinking you probably don't do one unless you are already close to pulling the trigger. To me, alcantara looks like cheap suede and what I have been told is that it's racy because it grabs and holds you in the seat so it's good for track cars. Therefore, if you really want to look like a track car guy, you get alcantara. This is what the Ferrari sales guy explained to me. FWIW.

Hello sir... its my addiction and I love it. I probably don't get bored as much as I want to try something new. Ill bet it lasts longer than 3 months; maybe

It sounds excellent and I would argue that the Jag may be a tick stronger in the WOT position and this car is more violent down low. So in a full compare its about even but they sound different; the Jag having the firecracker overruns and the GTS have the cannon fires on gear changes. The GTS is the better driver's car IMHO as I put a few more miles on her yesterday and today. The steering rack is on point and the magnetic shocks and motor mounts keep this thing flat. I have 4 cars now with the magnetic set up and they are easily the best out there. The Ohlins on the Ferraris at the top of the list.

Yes lately and here only, my reviews have led to purchases. The only one that I didn't buy was the F80 M3 LOL.

I love that the Ferrari guy said that while both of mine don't have it (headliners yes). Its all personal opinion and I don't base the feel as track necessity at all. Seat material is clearly subjective. My GT3 is alcantara and so is the Black Series but the others are supple leather which I enjoy too.

The Ferrari sales guy told me that silver California would be gone quickly as it's unique so if I wanted I better go get it. He was right. I think I like the diamond stitching on the seats in the Ferrari's. I am shopping used California's, just like I did with the 991 TTS. When the right one comes along, I may get it. Unfortunately that means saying goodbye to the 991TTS which I really don't want to part with. I just don't have the garage space and don't want to move. I have my house the way I like it with the new pool and it can't flood out even in torrential rains. I live on one of the highest points in Austin at 824 ft according to my Vbox and the topo contour map from the USGS shows 900ft right where my house is. I can live with the RR out in the driveway but I can't see either of the Porsches or a Ferrari California living outside the garage. Definitely going to redo the kitchen this summer and probably the master bath but there really isn't anything I can do about the garage other than move.

streetking aka SW built himself a house out behind the Oasis with a 12 car garage to solve his problem. That's not in the cards for me.

I think having a 2 car garage is a great way of keeping in check the allure of getting different types of cars. I'm very happy with my 2 car garage. The next gen R8 has my attention but look, no space in garage

Vic55 any plans to put 325 rubbers on the GTS? I'm secretly hoping you to do it and park it beside the GT3RS just for the looks department comparison.

Why don't you invest in your walls which are between you and neighbors?

I believe replacing the 295 tire with 325 will completely change the dynamic of this car... Just my opinion...

You're right, the black series might come stock with them though accompanied by other tweaks. Vic says earlier in this thread, that someone has successfully put 325 rears on this car.

Nice. Well done. Now I need to get one!

But I'm holding out for the V8 or turbo-5 Audi R8.

Gorgeous car Vic; I love it in grey. Enjoy it. Now I'm waiting on your thoughts on the next gen R8 when released soon.
