Stealth, if the dealer actually gave you a good offer on your trade I'm sure you would play. Did you ask them? I'm assuming its the F Type R right?

I saw a Designo White one too with the Porcelain/Black two tone white interior. That also looked amazing. I agree with you on the fixed wing. I wish that could be added to non-edition 1 cars.

I had the F-Type with me, the sales guy saw it because I parked right outside his office. I told him that I want to get a good price on the Jag so I am selling it on Autotrader. He didn't raise the idea of trying to make the numbers work so I didn't push for it. I figure if they want to be aggressive they can call me.

Some data auctionwise on the F Type R--- bare ball prices but usually what a dealer likes to offer on a trade in so they can high gross the next buyer. The 50k car had damage I believe but the range is probably more in the low 80's and high 70's.

Thanks that's helpful. There are something like 20 used 2015 F-Type Rs for sale nationally. However a fair amount of those are within 300 miles of Atlanta. So I suspect this will drag into late Jan/Feb until the local inventory level becomes a bit more tight.

Dealer turns on new F-Types also seems pretty slow.

Yes the dealership day's supply of these cars are a bit extended- they just aren't moving. I sold mine for 94k back about a year ago and invoice was right under 98k so I made out ok with 1k miles on the clock. But those auction numbers aren't all too bad so you might have a chance this month to get a Benz store to push a GTS out. It is the best month for Mercedes new car sales in the year.

Agreed. We were in Benz store for an E class. Dealer has offered a ridiculous pricing on it (~15K below sticker on a 70k car). Also he followed up on GTS and offered about 5% discount.

I shopped with parents for Benz S-class a few years ago and remember that the dealer offered pretty aggressive pricing on It around this time.

Remember the E Class is an end of model year car right now so they are doing what is needed to move them.

Stealth - yeap, and the dealer is now almost 20K below sticker.Think we will pull the trigger on it.

BTW, I am in SoCal this week and this roads are a revelation compared to the crap we have in NYC. I have seen so many Lambos, Ferrari's and Maseratis on the road - no wonder. Shame to own these cars in NYC area where you can't go 10 feet without hitting a pothole.

Eff. Just walked out of dealership. Went to seal the deal on a 2016ED. Dealer said I can't do a 2016 anymore and can't do custom interior (which blows) and that no discount on 2017. MSRP or leave it.

I walked out. Pissed.

Ideas anyone? Any other better MB dealer to work with?

Yeah 2017 I would imagine will be out by summer if not earlier. Also for 2017 they will have the base GT model.

For Mercedes ED, there is a 7% discount. You can't negotiate below ED MSRP - it works differently with Mercedes than BMW.

This is why often on-the-lot cars are cheaper than ED cars with Mercedes.

I'm fine getting a 2017 but the dealer said MSRP or not. My guess is that given summer is coming and earliest 2017 deliveries will be June, demand is high.

I'm kicking myself to not lock a 2016 spot when I could in Jan. I was getting a nice discount on it.

Is there another dealer that anyone can recommend for ED?

Also I wanted a custom designo interior. This dealer is refusing to do anything custom. Anyone here have experience with how to order non standard interiors on AMG's? I'm willing to pay but want the interior as I want it.

I checked their website and you are right, there is no ED discount for the GTS. These are the cars that are available

That said it means you are dealing with your dealer so it's like negotiating any discount. I would go online and find the dealers with the largest 2016 stocks. I would imagine they would be wary of building stocks up again for 2017 and so they may cut a deal.

These guys were not willing to negotiate on 17's. I suspect that Dec / Jan are lean months for selling a GT in northeast so they were willing to negotiate then. Given spring is around the corner and delivery will be summer, they are going to hold ground on their AMG slots. That said, he offered the same discount on the same 2016 GTS that they have on the lot since Dec (black with red interior, am dynamic package and couple of other ones). Given its black, I won't go anywhere near it so that's a non starter.

I really wanted this ED to work out. My wife and I were flexible for a June trip but this was terrible news today. I wish I was the type who could pay MSRP on a car but I just can't. But more then that I want the interior in certain color and won't have the car any other way. Will be doing some looking on the MB forums to see if there are any suggestions. If that doesn't work, I don't know...

Decided not to get it. Checked with a couple of other dealers. The interior can't be customized at this point regardless of buyer's willingness to pay for it. There may be some long convoluted way but given I got the same answer from 3 different dealers and their absolute unwillingness to do anything about it, not worth going on a goose chase.

That's a shame given M division let's you customize your car quite a bit. I was going to keep the car long term so want it the way I really want it. Oh well.

That's too bad because the driving experience in this car far outweighs the interior. But I get it, you want custom. Keep searching you might just find the build you can live with interiorwise and grab it.

I hear you Vic. The driving experience is near sublime for me. Loved every bit of it. Luggage space wasn't too bad either. Haha had already started looking for travel bags that would fit the space in the back.

Saddle brown is the closest to what I liked but not exactly. One option is to buy it and redo the upholstery in a color I want but that is ridiculous amount of work.

I have an email out to MB corp detailing my woes and how they can win over a BMW customer if they can just do the car in colors I want. Unless they say yes...

How many stores did you check with again? Maybe these stores are limited in their GTS allocations. I know as you move West you will find dealers that have more leverage with MBUSA for allocations and special orders.

I checked with 3. 1 in NY and 2 in NJ. One of the NJ stores is heavy volume store. Allocations didn't seem to be an issue. They all said they could get me delivery in the mid to late June on 2017's without any issues. Order books on 17's just opened up 12 days ago.

I find it strange that MB would be this strict on customizations. 1 of them checked with regional and came back with a no. I think it's just stupid of them to take such a hard line on a customization request.

I suggest you go out of state... Fletcher Jones Newport Beach (right by me) is the largest Benz store in the US. If anyone can get a custom build its them.
