For the Porsche fans

A few mod's to my 2016 Porsche Turbo.

Special thanks to Detailing Dynamics in Mineola NY for the performance and audio. Eddie and Matty run a fantastic operation. I live over 90 miles away and only trust them to work on my cars.

Wheels Boutiques for the Wheel and Tire setup.

HRE wheels for another fantastic set of wheels.

Now for the hardware-

Sound- Complete re-haul of the terrible Bose System. Detailing Dynamics suggested Focal and JL Audio. They replaced center channel, all doors with separates. We left the rear speakers in for rear fill. I may in the future swap those out, but for now, they work great. 10" JL Audio sub in the rear deck. We have 2 amplifiers completed hidden in the frunk and a DSP under the passenger seat.

The folks are Detailing Dynamics have tweaked the system to the music I listen to. Pics to come soon.

I did also add front and rear cameras along with a complete Bel Tronics/ ALP radar system.

Performance- On my 2014, I chose the popular Cobb/ Kline setup. This time around, I went with a Giac tune and GMG exhaust. Love this setup. I did add the diverters, but no y-pipe this time.

Wheels and Tires- HRE P201 in brushed clear gold on Pirelli tires.

My understanding is these are the first set of the P201's in a centerlock configuration made for the Porsche cars. This setup really pops and is an eye opener which I absolutely love. Thanks to Ben @ Wheels for directing me in this direction.

Suspension is from H & R Springs. I may in the future do a KW setup.

On to some pictures-

Stock-

The AMG GTS is gone- Replaced by the Porsche Turbo

Looking good! Love the P201. I'm really torn between P101 and P201 for my next set.

I feel your pain on the Bose system. I would give the HK system in the F10 M5 a 7 or an 8/10. The Bose in Porsche is barely a 5/10. I'm working with my dealer to swap the Bose with the Burmester. Currently have a quote of $7000 CDN (taxes in and installed) and I'm seriously considering it.

I was in the same boat, just thought the P101's are way too played out. ON any given week, Isee at least 4-6 sets on my aily 15 mile commute to work.

For 7k, go aftermarket for sure. The burmeister is nice, but aftermarket just kills is. GL!

Do you mind sharing you're doing? Replacing just the speakers or more?

What a beauty! I would've gone one size smaller on the wheels. Are they 21"?

Have you done a comparison test with a car that has Burmester? Because I have before my purchase. I came with a hard drive of music before I ordered. In my experience the Bose was not lacking, but the Burmester was still nice.

I would give the Bose a 9/10 to be honest.

What was the source of your music? Did you turn off the post-processing in the settings? Did you load any 24-bit files or FLACs onto the hard drive? Mine sounded fantastic really.

My 2015 S550 had the Burmeister sound system which costs $ 5500 and that system was great. Never heard it in a Porsche, but I do know, without a doubt this new system blows the doors off the S550 setup and is 100 times better than the Bose in my Porsche Turbo. MY main source of music is spotify or some form of streaming service.

The gold wheels are awesome. You may want to consider the Front Aerokit and the GT3RS side skirts.

Don't want to thread jack here but I was partly mistaken on the Bose. It's on par or better than the HK for non-streaming. When I first turned off linear processing I couldn't modify bass or treble settings. Not sure if it was because I was using BlueTooth streaming. In any case it does sound pretty decent when using AAC files with linear processing off. I tried FLAC but it won't recognize them. Could be the encoding or my PCM doesn't support it. I wish there was a full equalizer rather than just bass / treble.

I did occasionally listen to BlueTooth streaming on my F10 M5. The sound was good enough for the convenience. On the Bose there's something definitely off with BlueTooth. I get an occasional skip and the quality is just horrendous.

I might skip the Burmester and just upgrade the speakers.
