They justify their purchase with initial feelings. This is why Im waiting on my RS7 post as I need to start disliking things so I can be more subjective.

I bet that video is a stock M5 with no Comp Pack.

I just test drove an M4 and there is absolutely no way this car is faster than the M5 even in non cp form. It feels faster because the engine sound inside the cabin is much louder (and it is so obvious that it is artificial, not subtle like m5), and also because its a stiffer ride and you feel every single bump on the road. But to me car felt like it kept running out of breath. You feel the lack of 600 hp comparing to the m5 all the way. Also entering curves in highway, the traction control kept lighting up, same road i would do 30mph more in my m5 and it would be no issues.

I wont even mention the interior quality aspects as Dave said its really cheaply made compared to the M5. To me the car is a disappointment, and I would only get one if I couldnt afford a new M5 in an M3 form.

According to the reviews Im reading I think its safe to say the M3/M4 is the best sounding M car ever built... LOL.

This, the F10's stock exhaust is actually quite good. Its just its so well insulated so its much harder to hear. When you straight pipe it or run any type of exhaust setup it's gonna be obnoxiously loud in the cabin. Like dave knows, even in our straight pipe setups it's still actually pretty quite in the cabin compared to outside, which is extremely loud. Im curious to see if the M3/M4 gets any criticism at all, the F10 M5 got major criticism for minor flaws. And, the cold start on the S55 is just embarrassing lol.

It actually does resemble a 458 (at least IMO when comparing Youtube vids of the M3 and 458 start ups).

Does not sound remotely like small motor to me

In fact, over at the F80 Boards there are now E9x owners that start commenting on how good this cars sounds in real life during their test drives

and I have an M5 but because reviews like this may dissuade me from.what seems to be a possible downgrade as I was thinking about M4!!

Agreed. But under a load in Race mode the Ferrari becomes ferocious and I highly doubt this produces that kind of intoxicating note! In neutral the revs it do sound sort of similar.

Although on start up I was cracking up because it truly does sound like a Snapper-lol!
